Burgundy and Navy Wedding from John Myers Photography

It was a December to remember for Meg and Evan. And we can’t think of a better wedding design for the wintery month than one with rich tones mixed with the simplicity of love, which is exactly what these two achieved with their burgundy and navy wedding at Clementine Hall. Every detail was well thought of; accented with fresh florals of greenery and crisp white blooms. And to say you can feel the love between them and surrounding them is an understatement. If you love winter weddings with a timeless feel, then you’re guaranteed to fall in love with these gallery favorites and celebratory video all captured by John Myers Photography and Videography.

Tell us about your engagement!

Meg: Evan and I love to hike so on one of the first warm Saturdays in March, Evan suggested we drive out to Tracy City, TN to hike the Fiery Gizzard Trail. The hike was absolutely beautiful and we went to a local diner to grab lunch after. We got back in the car to head back home to Nashville, but instead we pulled up to a cabin. We walked down a trail to a private 50ft waterfall where Evan popped the question! He had the ring hiding in a water bottle in his hiking backpack. Evan had flowers waiting in the cabin and we got to enjoy a quiet night together before calling our friends and family to share the news the next morning.

What was your theme and what inspired it (e.g. farm, garden party, contemporary, modern, vintage etc.):?

Meg: We never had a set theme going into wedding planning, but our vision was always for simple and natural. We pulled most of our inspiration from the natural structural beauty at Clementine. From the long windows to the wooden floors, we really wanted to highlight the simplicity of the venue. Fresh by Cary Ann helped make our vision come to life with fresh green and white floral arrangements.

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Meg: Our wedding day was a dream. Evan and I planned the whole thing with my mom, so it was really special to feel like we had a hand in all of the details. We hand picked each song played throughout the night, which gave us the perfect soundtrack that we can listen to forever. Evan’s best friend from high school officiated our ceremony, and another one of his friends designed our logo. We took our first communion together during the wedding ceremony and had our first prayer with both families. We didn’t have any of our grandparents in attendance so we honored them with a memorial candle and picture charms that hung on each families’ aisle. The cake knife we used was used at both my Grandparents and my parents weddings. Josh Jackson created bride and groom signature cocktails that perfectly reflected each of our tastes. Evan planned the get away car as a total surprise.. I saw it for the first time during the LED balloon exit. There were so many moments that were so special to us, which translated into an intimate evening with our guests!

What are some tips you can share with other brides planning their weddings?

Meg: My one tip for other brides is to be open and honest with your wedding planner about everything. Luckily my planner was my mom and she knows me better than anyone! We had a coordinator that we met with about 6 months out. We kept her in the loop with all planning, and she took over the month of the wedding. This was perfect for us because she knew exactly what we envisioned and once the big day came, we could relax and let her handle everything. At the end of the day, you have to be flexible and remember that you’re getting to marry your best friend and that’s really all that matters!

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding?

Meg: Our wedding was an absolute blast and one of the best days of our life. It is so rare to have family and friends from all walks of life in one room. It was a day we will remember forever!

What a fun day! Congrats to Meg and Evan! And huge thank you to John Myers Photography and Videography for sharing their burgundy and navy wedding at Clementine hall with us!
