Tell us about Meredith Teasley Photography + how long you’ve been in business.
Meredith: I own a wedding and family photography business, and have been in business for 8 years! I went from doing photography on the side as a creative outlet, to transitioning out of another full-time job and into wedding photography while also getting to stay home with my little ones.
How did you get started in weddings?
Meredith: I was asked to shoot a wedding after the bride’s mother saw some family photos I had taken. Needless to say, I LOVED the experience, and family members recommended me for a cousin’s wedding. From there, I hit the ground running! Since then, word of mouth has been my greatest source of wedding referrals, and I love the personal connections that provides!
What are your strengths compared to other photographers?
Meredith: Before I ever photographed weddings, I served for a number of years as a summer camp director. Thanks to that experience working with so many people, my strengths are quick decision making, confidence, clear communication, and of course keeping things on time! My brides would tell you that I am the calming presence on the wedding day who’s not afraid to direct people where to go, always with a smile. I love to help solve problems and reassure brides and grooms that everything’s going to be ok!
What attracts couples to Meredith Teasley Photography (+ describe that couple!)?
Meredith: Aside from finding a good match with my photography style, most couples I work with are looking for someone who’s confident and experienced in their craft, with a calming personality on the wedding day and an eye for details. They trust me to do my job with excellence and deliver a beautiful, classic finished product. My ideal couple is joyful and full of life. They cannot wait to share their big day with all their family and friends, and have thought of every detail. Their marriage is their focus, above just the wedding day, and they value others above themselves! One of my greatest joys in photography is when clients cry happy tears over their beautiful photos and the memories we captured.
