Tell us about your company Dancing Dani + how long you’ve been in business!

Dani: I am a professional dancer who has danced with ballet companies, onboard Celebrity Cruise ships and toured the U.S. with the Utah Ballroom Dance Company. I received a B.F.A. in Dance from The University of California – Irvine and have been teaching and coaching for over 10 years all over the U.S.. I moved to Nashville in 2015, but continue to perform and teach clients around the country in person and via video chat.

How did you get started in weddings?

Dani: My friends started asking me for dance lessons for their weddings. I fell in love with helping them make their wedding day special through dance. Whether it’s a first dance, bridal party dance, or parent dance. One lesson can create a lifetime of memories.

What is the philosophy behind Dancing Dani?

Dani: No one should stress about memorizing choreography for their wedding day — you should be able to enjoy the moment! I offer a Crash Course dance lesson if you are running out of time and want one lesson to add some sparkle to your first dance. I love teaching and creating simple dances (through a pattern) that will allow you to wow your guests and enjoy dancing with your loved one! If you want more moves, more tricks, more confidence, and more choreography, I would be happy to work with you to make your dance exactly the way you dreamed it would be!

What are your strengths compared to other dance instructors?

Dani: Unlike big ballroom studios, I am able to focus on YOU, and what you want and need! There is no extra pressure to buy packages. I’ll focus on teaching you a new skill and making sure you have fun!

What attracts couples to hire you for dance lessons?

Dani: Dancing in the spotlight can be scary, I understand that. I am great at working with couples to make them feel comfortable and CONFIDENT for their dance. I have years of experience, tips and tricks for dancing on your big day.

What are some trends you’re seeing in wedding dances?

Dani: With so many items on the wedding To-Do List, a lot of people forget that the first dance is a big moment of their wedding day. You can avoid the awkward middle school sway, and have fun by learning some basic dance moves.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about First Dance Nashville?

Dani: You can learn from me at a studio, in the privacy of your home, or through video chat.
