Today we have Taylor of Chef’s Market here to give us all the scoop on catering a bridal shower or engagement party… and let me tell you, she has SO many FUN ideas! Keep reading to get all the details…

Taylor: At Chef’s Market, we can accommodate parties and occasions, large or small, for anything that life throws at you! I believe a good time always takes place around a new life change and what two bigger life changes are there other than hosting a wedding or having a baby? We take pride and the many years of knowledge we have as a team to create an event that is based around the guest or guests of honor and make it a day they are proud to celebrate. Some of our services include menu creating and staffing but that truly is the tip of the iceberg. We also have a full decor warehouse for our staffed events that can be included in our proposal price. We also have the ability to assist with rentals and other vendors, florals, and we even have an in-house calligraphy artist and designer!

Taylor: For a bridal shower, who doesn’t love a ladies luncheon menu? But these menus don’t have to be the same menu as bygone eras – spice it up! Does the bride have a favorite cocktail? I mean, it’s not a celebration without a toast. And what about nibbles? Some of my favorite party snacks include house-made potato chips in different flavors paired with an assortment of dips, hand-sized tacos and anything hailing from New Orleans (think Catfish Po’Boy or Savory Crab Stuffed Beignets, for example). Any engagement party I’ve been a part of, I always felt that the menu and the vibe needed to come from the couple of honor and what they like in their day to day life. Yes, this is a monumental occasion in their lives but why not throw a fiesta with a create your own taco bar, complete with our famous chips and queso? Don’t forget the margarita machine! Or maybe a themed event based on their favorite trips or hopeful honeymoon destinations. Italy? That sounds great – let’s start with an antipasti board and passed champagne. England on the bucket list? Pomme frites with garlic aioli and beer battered cod filets! And what if they’re obsessed with Parks and Rec (the TV show), bacon and waffles all around! The menu should really speak to who the couple is at their core yet keep it as fun and relaxed as possible! It is a party, afterall!

Taylor: Pick up events and staffed are events – the style of service is completely up to you! We have menus for any small (or larger) pick up need you may have if you’re looking to just add one or two items to the menu in addition to what will already be there. Or let us cater your event with staff and the stress will melt right away with our knowledgeable team on-site and you will not have to lift a finger!

Taylor: Desserts are one of our specialties when it comes to events (I mean, have you tried our Strawberry Cake?). Our bakery team has been known to come up with new options for every season and can even accommodate special requests and family recipes! Mini desserts are still a great option for these types of events since the wedding has the cake, why not have multiple bite sized options – perfect for the end of the event! For a Nashville theme – a whoopie pie would be perfect! Have a hankering for a childhood favorite? Milk and cookies should do the trick! And what about those high brow friends? A classic yet over the top macaron and fruit display never goes out of style! The opportunities are endless!

Taylor: Orders, depending on what time of year and availability of course, can be placed as late as the week of the event, though I highly recommend advance notice on all requests for such special occasions as we like to take our time with assisting in every part of the planning process, especially the menu! It’s a huge time in a client’s life and we have the ability to show our love of new beginnings and honoring the guests of honor with food!

Taylor – you gave us so many incredible suggestions to make a bridal shower or engagement party truly unique and special! Thank you so much for sharing your insight with us today!
