An Old Fashioned Sweetheart Styled Shoot at Gray’s on Main by Amy Allmand | Nashville Tennessee Styled Shoots & Trends

Simple, sweet and old-timey is such a fun theme for a styled shoot – and downtown Franklin is the perfect place to host a shoot like this! Photographer Amy Allmand and her styled shoot team created a romantic scene around the couple Natalie + Hayden at Franklin's historic restaurant Gray's on Main. I love how their concept can be interpreted in many different ways – it's not quite an engagement, elopement or anniversary shoot – it's simply a sweet couple who wanted to get dressed up for a night on the town – no matter what the occasion! Natalie's vintage-inspired 50's style dress and Hayden's classic suit set the scene for images that could have been taken today or 50+ years ago! See the rest of the photos and hear more about the shoot below!

Tell us about the shoot and who was a part of it!

Amy: I wanted to do a Valentine's theme sweetheart shoot somewhere in downtown Franklin. I collaborated with my hair & make-up artist, Madison Dennis of MHD Beauty. Madison found our models, Natalie & Hayden while I worked with Joni at Gray's for the location. She knew that I was going for an old Hollywood glamour feel. Hayden wore his own suit and Natalie wore a black & white BCBG strapless tulle dress that I personally own. She wore her own red shoes, which was requested along with lips to match.

What was the theme and what inspired it?

Amy: Valentine's, sweetheart, love, vintage. The color scheme was based around the black & white BCBG strapless tulle dress. Keeping that scheme simple we added in her red shoes and lipstick as the accent.

Can you share any special moments or highlights of the day?

Amy: Natalie & Hayden are a real couple who had never been to Franklin, so it was fun for them to see a new place. We shot at around 3pm, in between their lunch and dinner so that we had the restaurant virtually to ourselves. Gray's was so gracious to pull out some of their Valentine's decorations a bit early to add a little bit of love ambiance. She also let us shoot in their private 3rd floor room which was pretty amazing.

Were there any special requests or unique challenges that you had to work together to overcome?

Amy: Yes, unfortunately it did rain quite a bit that day. My plan was to also to shoot in front of the Franklin Theatre marquee to have a full date night styled shoot, but that was not meant to be. I still love how it turned out even without that part of the vision.

Thanks so much for sharing this warm sweetheart shoot with us, Amy! You can check out more of her work here on her website and also here on Instagram – Happy Monday!
