A casual picnic meets a classy boho wedding day – this shoot from John Myers Photography has the best of both worlds! Unlike other styled shoots, I love that the sweet picnic element at Carnton Plantation was a part of this fantasy wedding day. After a champagne celebration, the couple changes into their wedding attire from Street Tuxedo and Fabulous Frocks to enjoy a drink from a curated bar by Concoctions Bartending, walking through the gardens and finishing out the day with portraits by the historic home and fields. Tell us about the shoot vision & theme!
John: An eclectic mix of natural, rustic and vintage details creating a light, airy and playful feel. Boho themed wedding & engagement. Formal, yet casual expressing the lighthearted feel of the couple allowing them to simply be themselves.
What details were used to create the theme?
John: Vintage feel while still retaining the essential details that make it utterly boho…locally grown florals, paired with sheer airy fabrics contrasted by bright pops of color throughout the dining and decor…a truly free spirited vibe.
Were there any special requests or unique challenges that you had to work together to overcome?
John: The couple wanted to bring their puppy (while he was still a tiny puppy) to incorporate into the engagement portion of the shoot. Being a puppy he was fairly unpredictable, but utterly adorable, stealing the hearts of all in attendance.
