From the couple: Tonight, love takes center stage.

Set against a backdrop of heartfelt lyrics and dreamy melodies, this wedding isn’t just a celebration—it’s a headlining event curated with the spirit of indie music at its core. From table names inspired by the bands that have soundtracked their love story to a vibe that’s equal parts vinyl and vows, this is a night for romantics, rebels, and everyone in between.

So grab a drink, find your table (named after your favorite indie legends), and get ready to dance like no one’s watching. Because tonight, we’re not just witnessing a marriage—we’re vibing to the greatest love song ever written.

Tell us about yourselves.

Sara & Scott: We are a couple of weirdos that thrive together, but are still their own unique selves. Sara is smart, compassionate, beautiful and amazingly talented woman. She brings happiness and a calming presence to the room. Scott has a heart of gold and brings out a goofy side to Sara. Scott is a handsome teddy bear that is very supportive and extremely hardworking. They encourage each other to go after their dreams and grow. They both love movies a the Belcourt, grabbing a bag of popcorn and letting the movie whisk them away. They love listening to music while working on a puzzel in the cozy winter months. they love breweries and traveling to new places.

Tell us about the vision for your wedding.

Sara & Scott: From the start, we knew we wanted our wedding to feel like us—a little unconventional, deeply personal, and full of heart. Our shared love for music, especially the indie bands that have soundtracked so many moments of our relationship, became the inspiration for the entire day.

Each table was named after a different band we love, Modest Mouse, Peach Pit, Wilco, Cage the Elephant. We wanted to turn the reception into a kind of living mixtape of our story. Guests found themselves seated at places that held meaning: songs we’d danced to in our living room, lyrics that got us through hard times, and albums that played on repeat during late-night road trips.

Visually, we leaned into a vibe that felt cozy, modern, and a little bit nostalgic—like the glow of a vintage record store meets the romance of a summer evening. Think soft lights strung overhead and florals that felt wild and effortlessly cool, just like the music that inspired them.

What was their theme and what inspired it? What details were used to create the theme?

Sara & Scott: The theme that inspired all these details was “Our Love Is the Headliner”—a celebration styled like a dream music festival, but one built entirely around your love story. It was where wedding meets indie concert, where every element—sound, setting, style—reflected the way music has been the heartbeat of your relationship.

Can you share your favorite memory or any special moments from the day?

From the photographer, Lizzy: First look was so sweet! They wrote their vows in a cookbook they are use and they way they looked at each other was really something special!

Is there anything else you’d like to share?

Lizzy: Sara and Scott are literally so cool and stylish and it was one of the best weddings visually I have ever shot!

Huge thank you to Sara, Scott, and Lizzy Oakley Photography for sharing this wonderful music-fueled wedding at Long Hollow Gardens with us!
