How did you guys meet?
Julia: We met at Law School at the University of Kentucky
Tell us about your engagement!
Julia: We graduated from Law school and had taken the bar exam. We both fell in love with Nashville when we did summer internships and knew Nashville was where we wanted to be ! We were packed and ready to make the trip from Lexington to Nashville . We got engaged by our UHaul when we did final check to make sure everything was secure in truck Eddie got down on his knee and proposed.
What was the vision for your wedding?
Julia: The overall vision for our wedding was an event that showcased our new home in Nashville surrounded by our families and friends. Children were included in our ceremony and invited to our reception .

What was your theme and what inspired it?
Julia: Our reception was held at Cedars at Carr Farm so the event space really influenced our feel of the day . It is a beautiful farm with rolling hills . The reception had an elegant garden feel with nod to the traditional rustic Nashville setting.
What details were used to create your theme?
Julia: There were many details throughout the reception with nods to our family traditions . We had signature cocktails that we carefully chose and named them in honor of our pets Charlie and Archie. We had Nashville Beer Burros at our cocktail hour who roamed with packs with cold Guiness and several non alcoholic options for our guests. We had passed and stationary apps passed by North Nashville Catering at our cocktail hour which took place on the veranda . Our dinner was served as a buffet with our caterer’s signature features such as shrimp and grits and chicken piccata. We had an unbelievable bakery station and cake supplied by Leby’s Cakes. Our cake was topped with porcelain doves from Julia’s grandmother and cake was cut with a family heirloom. Julia’s bouquet was displayed in an antique blue vase embellished with a heart from Germany. Our florist was amazing and really made our vision come to life with full sized ball fern, tea roses , Calla Lilly and blue hydrangea throughout our reception space on tables and winding up the staircase. Bridesmaids wore navy blue and our junior bridesmaid (Julia and Eddie’s niece Evelyn) wore celestial blue. Kathy Wiggins at Romance and Rust brought the vision together with all of the decor setup with a sweetheart table from her private collection and many more details both inside and out to bring a feeling of luxury and “home.”
Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?
Julia: Splurges were made with a luxury bus from Signature transport who also shuttled guests to and from the hotel. The flower bar was set up at end of evening to repurpose the floral used for the day with some added stems for guests to make and take. The selection of bakery was worth every penny spent. We also splurged on having beer donkeys during the cocktail hour. We saved with making all of the outdoor artificial floral.

What words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?
Julia: Have fun with the process ! Wedding planning is not for the faint of heart . Execution of your vision takes a lot of planning and having a good team of people in place to be supportive and keep you on track is essential! Take breaks from the crazy. Build in time to just take a break from all of the chaos. Everyone involved is going to have an opinion or suggestions … maybe give a window of time limit for this so everyone can express thoughts or ideas and then close the window and make a task oriented timeline to keep on track.
Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?
Julia: Special moments:
Bride first look with the father of the bride
Groom’s dance with the mother of the bride
Bouquet dedication to the mother of the bride
Highlights:
The groomsmen and groom were wearing pocket squares made of of materials that belonged to the bride’s grandmother and great grandmother.
The bakery table was amazing and the grooms cake in shape of an Old Bay can was one of the groom’s favorite things.
Beer burros at the reception carrying the couples favorite beer, Guinness.
Photo booth set up by We Bring the Party was one of the hits of the night.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding?
Julia: Nathan at the Cedars was such a great host and we could not have asked for a better venue. All of our vendors went above and beyond and made our wedding a wonderful day. And of course all of this could not have been accomplished without the planning from my mom, Liz Giordano.

What a beautiful day! Huge thank you to this couple and Nashville Dream Events for sharing this chic farm wedding with us!
