Known for creating one-of-a-kind custom garments for VIP clients globally, Paola’s unique eye for fashion and emerging trends is rooted in her background in both textiles and interior design. Her collections are a signature blend of sophistication and quintessential elegance, proving that luxury and elegance truly meet in her creations.
In this deep dive, Paola shares her journey from designing active menswear to becoming a celebrated bridal couture designer, revealing her creative process and the inspiration behind her stunning collections, including the memorable looks for singer Pia Toscano and the dramatic flair of her recent runway show at Miami Wedding Week. Get ready to explore the 2026 trends that are defining the future of bridal fashion—from unexpected materials to the enduring beauty of timeless style.

The Journey to Bridal Couture: From Menswear to Miami Wedding Week
Paola Estefania’s journey to becoming a bridal designer is a testament to ambition and a willingness to embrace the unexpected. She perfected her craft over seven years, starting in active menswear before getting an unexpected request to design custom ring gear for a WWE champion wrestler. This pivotal moment led to more bespoke, custom requests, particularly in the Hollywood scene.
Learning how to sew, create patterns, and draft—despite her interior design background—Paola meticulously watched and learned from talented seamstresses, gravitating towards the intricate world of couture fabrics: beaded materials, lace, and chiffons. Her “say yes” attitude to projects, even those outside her comfort zone, propelled her brand, including collaborations with celebrities like Christine Quinn (for Vogue Ukraine) and Ava Max, and a recent suit collaboration with Will Smith.
This sequence of diverse projects ultimately led her to bridal design, which she considers the “highest recognition” and a “huge responsibility.”

Eternal Elegance: Signature Silhouettes and 2026 Bridal Trends
Paola recently showcased her collection, “Eternal Elegance,” at Miami Wedding Week, embracing a “saints and sinners” theme with theatrical flair.
Beyond the Traditional Gown: Reception Looks and Transformations
A key trend for 2026 is the reception look transformation. Modern brides are moving away from tradition for the party, desiring a “jaw-dropping moment.” Paola addressed this with sculpted beaded bodysuits—elegant yet edgy—suggesting that brides can switch to a different color to match the ambiance or decor.
Key Materials and Construction Trends:
- Intricate Textures: Paola played with textures, showcasing a French crystal mini-dress and a dramatic ball gown mixing mesh and intricate 3D lace.
- Sleek and Sophisticated: The collection’s finale was a sleek gown featuring a jaw-dropping long train adorned with 3D lace and delicate Swarovski crystal strings, demonstrating that elegance can still include subtle sparkle.
- The Power of Construction: Paola emphasized that the design and construction of the garment can be a beautiful statement on its own. For one client, she custom-dyed and pleated Ralph Lauren silk into 16 yards of fabric to create an effortlessly stunning, lightweight gown that was beautiful without traditional beading or lace. Pia Toscano’s mermaid gown, with its unique train and construction, served as another example of making traditional lace feel modern.

Styling Details That Make a Statement:
The most impactful trend for 2026 is the return of unique accessories and the opportunity for brides to transform their look without buying multiple dresses:
- Gloves are Back: Sheer gloves are making a huge comeback. Paola elevated a recent client’s look with sheer gloves featuring subtle dangling crystals and embroidered initials of the groom—a perfect photo-op detail.
- Birdcage Veils and Fabric Headpieces: Inspired by Dior, Paola used birdcage veils and also experimented with six yards of white mesh wrapped around an updo to become an alternative, modern veil/bandana hybrid.
- Transformative Layers: Instead of a full dress change, brides can switch accessories or remove a sculptural over-skirt to reveal a comfortable, lighter look, adapting to venue factors like sand, grass, or stone.
- Experimentation: Paola encourages brides to dream big and experiment with unique materials like French pearls, nudes, silvers, or fringes, suggesting that off-white and champagne tones beautifully complement darker skin tones.

The Privilege of Bespoke Design
For Paola, creating a wedding gown is “the biggest honor” and a part of her legacy. The emotional reward—seeing the tearful gratitude of families and being part of a couple’s love story—is what she cherishes most. She likens the process to “building a home,” a responsibility she takes on with extreme pride, even when it means time away from her young daughters.
The Bespoke Process:
Paola’s business is primarily bespoke and custom-made.
- Turnaround Time: Paola is known for her incredibly fast turnaround, capable of producing a custom dress as early as one month, though special fabrics like French lace may require longer ordering times.
- Initial Consultation: The process begins with booking an appointment (virtual or in-person) through her website. A questionnaire helps her understand the client’s preferences and budget.
- Guidance and Customization: Paola provides guidance to brides who may not have a fixed idea, helping them select the right silhouette and customizing her Spring/Summer ’26 collection (or bespoke designs) in any size or color.
- Personalized Service: When you buy a Paola Estefania dress, you get Paola. She makes every effort to travel to her clients’ weddings to style and ensure everything is absolutely perfect.
