Mint Springs Farm

From Bec of Mint Springs Farm: Taylor and Dan were married at the idyllic venue, Mint Springs Farm – who just won Best Wedding Venue from Nashville Scene, in a delightful wedding on a gorgeous summer day. Taylor’s was absolutely breathtaking and we’re so excited that she shared with us all about her personal bride style and all the details of her wedding day.

Why did you choose your particular wedding venue?

Taylor: At the risk of sounding trite, as soon as we pulled up to the property, I knew it was the one. We had toured at least 10 different venues and while they were lovely, I never had the thought like “Oh yeah, this is IT”. I remember driving up the long, winding driveway and taking in the scenery. Lush, green, mature trees. The open air chapel. The farmhouse that was converted into the bridal suite. The picturesque pond. Mint Springs Farm encompassed all of my ideas and desires.

What did you want your wedding day to feel like?

Taylor: Like we were in our own world, with all of our closest friends and family, on an incredible adventure, sharing our love, singing, dancing, laughing. It was all of that and more

Who designed your wedding dress and why did you choose that particular dress?

Taylor: Ah the dress… I’m sure most know who Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy was. She was my inspiration. Her dress was so lovely, the simplicity, the elegance. I shared this with my stylist at the Dress Theory. I had her pull 3 different dresses. The last dress we pulled was her choice. Just by looking at it, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it, but I tried it on anyway. I remember seeing myself in the mirror and saying out loud “I LOVE THIS DRESS” over and over. It was very fitting and chic, the delicacy of the open cowl back was perfect. Truly my dream dress. The dress was designed by Alexandra Grecco – The Harriet.

Who designed your shoes?

Taylor: Manolo Blahnik

Did you have any important heirloom or sentimental accessories?

Taylor: I had the veil that both my mother and my aunt wore in their weddings deconstructed by removing the pearls from the headband. I went to Kathy at Elegant Alterations, and we came up with the idea to attach, in a scattered approach, the pearls throughout my veil. My mother passed away back in 2010, this way my way of having her “there” with me.

Did you have an outfit change for the reception?

Taylor: Yes! Highly recommend an outfit change! I slipped into the Zenni A-Line by Reformation.

Who designed your bridesmaids dresses and how did you go about selecting the style and color for the bridesmaid dresses?

Taylor: I knew that I wanted my bridesmaids dresses to reflect their personalities, and I knew that I wanted all different colors and styles. I gave them each a color, but gave them the freedom to find the dress they wanted and felt the most comfortable in. To be honest, I wasn’t quite sure how it would turn out… Well, turns out, we NAILED IT… in my eyes anyway. The different colors and styles and textures blended together so well – it was everything that I had hoped it would be. All different designers – Mac Duggal, Bec & Bridge, V. Chapman and Dessy to name a few.

From Bec:

We did a little digging and found all of Taylor’s bridesmaids dresses:
Yellow Floral: Yellow Ruffle Tiered Floral Cut-out Chiffon Gown
Light Pink: Sorry, we don’t have info on this one.
Orange: Sold out on Anthropologie but is available on Poshmark
Seafoam: Ren Split Maxi Dress
Lavender: Sleeveless V-neck Chiffon Wrap Dress In Pale Purple
Blue/Green Floral: V. Chapman Geranium Dress- Tapestry Rose
Magenta: Charmeuse Halter Strap Soft Tie Waist Gown
Blue: Jasmine Halter Maxi Dress

Is there anything you would have done differently?

Taylor: Maybe slowed it all down a bit. The day was fast-paced and packed with activities. It would have been nice to have an entire weekend, that way we would have had a little more quality time with our people.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone who is planning their wedding?

Taylor: Stay true to you, seriously. Try not to get caught up with what is “hot” and what is not and try not to compare yours to others.

Obsessing as much as we are? Don’t worry! We’ve got even more stylish inspo here!
