How did you guys meet?

Jacque: We met about 10 years ago in California on separate college trips. Stephen is best friends with my cousin & we instantly had a crush on each other, about 6 years later we started dating!

Tell us about your engagement!

Jacque: Stephen pulled off the greatest surprise in the world & proposed on a bridge in Amsterdam. It was a dream.

What was the vision for your wedding?

Jacque: Boho / Vintage / Southern. Our team nailed it.

From Premier W.E.D.: Jacque loves a relaxed vibe with a bohemian influence. They own a bungalow with a large expansive back yard in East Nashville and originally started to plan for it to be there. After meeting with Premier W.E.D. and having our firm educate them on all that it would entail to pull off a 160 person wedding in that space, they ultimately asked to look elsewhere. She wanted pops of deep maroon. She loves the desert and so there were succulents incorporated in places to bring that element into the wedding.

It was important to have a relaxed, not stuffy wedding. But she wanted it to still be elegant and well designed. Because of the great space at Southall Meadows with the 100 year old amazing rustic barn with concrete floors, and then the old tree for the ceremony and then switch dancing to their new modern farm house feel of a venue…it worked out well to incorporate all their elements in one location. She also liked that there was a rain plan if the tree ceremony site couldn’t happen due to Nashville’s spastic rain forecasts.

What details were used to create your theme?

Premier W.E.D.: Premier W.E.D. pulled linen swatches that felt like the perfect mix of relaxed elegance. A soft rose velvet napkin as well as a velvet runner adorned her head table. Other guest tables were also a lacquered wood farm tables as well as round ivory linen tables. Staying soft and neutral in the linens counter acted all the wood in the space for dinner since the barn, tables and chairs are all wood. The florals were then created to really incorporate the boho feel for them! Lots of texture and natural colors with hints of burgundy and rose. It was an April wedding so we didn’t want the maroon to translate to fall against a lot of the wood in the room.

Where did the couple splurge?

Premier W.E.D.: The band, photography, rugs and lounge furniture to really make the vintage boho feel happen! They had a blast with the Downtown Band and with Kathy Thomas’s team capturing the night!

Where did the couple save/DIY?

Premier W.E.D.: Table top rentals, and buffet vs. sit down dinner.

What words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Jacque: Remember what this is truly about, forever, not just the wedding day 🙂

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Jacque: Our first glance – this made us both feel so grounded & ready for the ceremony. It was special to have our own moment.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding?

Jacque: It was absolutely seamless, we felt so at ease & so happy. We were able to enjoy every single moment.

We can’t help, but smile looking at these photos. Huge thanks to Jacque, Stephen, and the team at Premier W.E.D. for sharing this vintage boho Southall Meadows Wedding with us!
