From Aubrie of Cedarwood Weddings: Matt and Junia had the sweetest summer wedding full of delight and whimsy on June 22nd, 2019. They chose to have their wedding at Cedarwood because Cedarwood is a historic-estate-all-inclusive-venue in Nashville! In summer, the weddings are extra delightful because the property is naturally lavish, the Tennessee Hills are extra green and gorgeous, the flowers are in full bloom, and the fireflies dance around the venue – it is quite a magical experience!
Junia, Matt, and Cedarwood dreamed up the most lovely wedding together – with the colors: ivory, sage, slate blue, and grey complimenting the season perfectly.
Every last detail from the lush white flowers, to Junia’s stunning floral wedding dress and dainty shoes, heavily decorated reception table tops, and so much more make us swoon!
How did you guys meet?
Junia: Matthew and I met at a church conference in Buffalo NY. After meeting each other, we looked for one another, but never met again in the 4 days we were there. A year and half later, Matthew happened to be visiting my church in NJ and we met once again. The first thing Matthew said to me was “we’ve met before.” Fate brought us together. We haven’t stopped talking since and got engaged 6 months later.
Tell us about your engagement!
Junia: I had a dream of wanting to get proposed to on a hot air balloon since high school! My husband also had the same fun idea years ago before we had met. He surprised me on a day trip down to a field in NJ and we took off on a hot air balloon ride. We landed in someone’s front yard, and he proposed!
What was the vision for your wedding?
Junia: I wanted a mid-summer whimsy dream feel. I wanted the style to be cohesive, but creative and eclectic. I wanted the colors to be white, ivory, shades of green, gold, and grey.
What was your theme and what inspired it?
Junia: Mid-Summer Garden Party
What details were used to create your theme?
Junia: Our love story had come full circle. So we had a circle arch, a circle wreath, and a circle chandelier wreath.
Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?
Junia: We definitely splurged on the florals, seating, utensils, & plating. I definitely focused on the overall decor (rather than the food) and beverage). Our wedding planner helped us budget and find ways we can save. We got the middle entree choices, which helped free up the budget for other styling options.
What words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?
Junia: I usually tell couples to focus on their most important wedding style items, and prioritize accordingly.
Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?
Junia: It rained right before the ceremony, so we moved our ceremony under the Great pavilion, where the reception also had been set up. The rain plan was more beautiful than the original, ceremony was suppose to be in the field! Cedarwood did such an incredible job making the day so seamless and beautiful. I showed up at the wedding event, not having to worry about anything. It was such a perfect day. My guests were saying how they could see my personality all throughout the wedding style! So thankful for a wedding planning team.
