Summer Soiree Filled With Color In The Heart of Nashville

We’re basking in the cheerful day that is Sarah & Michael’s summer soiree filled with color! With Green Door Gourmet as their chosen venue and Events by Briana on their team, they created a design that’s the perfect blend of rustic, whimsical, and care-free. The laid-back nature of the aesthetic was perfect for hosting an outdoor ceremony in which their adorable beagle played a big role, along with a reception with wooden textures and simplistic tabletops. Ashton Brooke Photography knew just how to capture the flawless celebration. Go ahead and take a peek!

Tell us about your engagement!

Sarah: Michael took me to take “graduation pictures” as I was finishing up medical school at the time. We got all dressed up, went down by the water (we were living in Tampa, FL at the time), and set up a camera. I turned around at one point and he was down on one knee! I was totally caught off guard and it was the sweetest moment ever captured.

Who was a part of your wedding team?

Sarah: Briana Patyk was phenomenal and took care of almost everything we needed. From planning to month-of and day-of coordination, she made our lives so incredibly easy! The finished product was even better than I could have ever imagined myself. She captured our vision perfectly! Ashton Stoffer was our wonderful photographer (Ashton Brooke Photography) and made us feel so relaxed and carefree. Her photos of our day were magical.

What was the vision for your wedding?

Sarah: We are both very laid-back people and we wanted our wedding day to reflect that. We wanted it to feel fun and relaxed, a time to just hang out with those who are closest to us in our lives.

What was your theme and what inspired it?

Sarah: We tried to create a colorful, garden party vibe. Our venue provided a beautiful, natural backdrop, and we wanted to incorporate as many organic, local elements as possible to blend into the landscape instead of standing out against it. We wanted light, airy, and whimsical.

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Sarah: We loved having our beagle, Sailor, be our flower girl. She wasn’t exactly on her best behavior that day, but she made us all smile and laugh and I am so glad we made the effort to have her there.

What are some tips you can share with other brides planning their weddings?

Sarah: Don’t spend so much time stressing about the details that you lose joy in the process.

Special thanks to Events by Briana, Sarah, and Michael for sharing their summer soiree filled with color!
