Sunday wedding ceremony at The Cordelle | Nashville Bride Guide

Simple Sunday Brunch Wedding from John Myers Photography

Y’all we absolutely adore Jordan and Bobby’s wedding day in more ways than one! The Cordelle set the scene for their simple Sunday brunch wedding that really is like a breathe of fresh air. The aesthetic looked effortless with gorgeous floral designs, greenery, candles, and accents of pink and gold, but nonetheless gave an elegant, romantic feel. Post nuptials, their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, delicious food and dancing, before Jordan, Bobby and the rest of their bridal party headed off to an after party at Mother’s Ruin. We love the laid-back energy this day brings and John Myers Photography captured it all so well through every images and well-curated video. Enjoy it all below!

Tell us about your engagement!

Jordan: We had been dating for a littler over a year. My husband, Bobby has a twin brother named Michael who also lives in Nashville with his husband Brandon. Brandon’s birthday is in November and I was led to believe that we were going to Malibu for the weekend to celebrate Brandon’s birthday. (November of 2019) Bobby and I had been in Malibu for one night and we were supposed to pick up Michael and Brandon from the LA airport on Saturday afternoon to start celebrating! I was told we were going to go to a fancy dinner in LA after picking them up, so I was all ready to go and celebrate. When I came out of the bathroom, Bobby took me to the balcony overlooking the ocean and proposed! I was SO surprised! I was even more surprised that Michael and Brandon were not coming to Malibu…it was all a trick to throw me off- and it worked! Bobby even hired a photographer to come over after the engagement to take some shots of us. It was such a magical, unexpected day!

What was the vision for your wedding?

Jordan: We knew we wanted a brunch wedding and we knew we wanted to keep the guest list to close family and friends- even before COVID happened! When Bobby first moved to Nashville he began working for Flavor Catering (our wedding caterer!) and told me about how beautiful the Cordelle was. We thought it would be perfect to have a brunch wedding there and we booked the venue a week after we were engaged. We really wanted something light and airy that went well with a brunch vibe. We wanted to keep it simple and the décor was focused mainly around white florals, greenery, and candles. We definitely wanted something that would “age” well, so we went with simple and airy. We wanted a simple, meaningful ceremony that captured us. We didn’t do many traditional typical wedding things- just our first dance , mother of the groom dance, and father of the bride dance. We wanted our guests to enjoy themselves and feel like they were at a cocktail party.

What was your theme and what inspired it?

Jordan: Sunday Brunch, cocktail, simple, light, airy!

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Jordan: I loved the first look with my dad and my husband. I also loved getting ready in the morning with my nieces (flower girls) bridal party, and mom! The reception was awesome and I LOVED the after party at Mother’s Ruin with our bridal party!

What are some tips you can share with other brides planning their weddings?

Jordan: My biggest tip is to do what you want. There are soooo many opinions out there, but if it’s something you truly want- go for it! I’m glad we didn’t do a formal cake cutting, (we had mini donuts and sweet potato cinnamon rolls for dessert) random dances, bouquet toss, etc. Totally awesome if you chose to do that, but it left us with much more time to mingle, talk to our guests, dance, and drink! Since we didn’t carve out time for any of that stuff, the day didn’t seem to “fly by” like many warned me about. I also let my bridesmaids chose their style of dress. Again, do what you want!! I wanted my bridesmaids to feel good and comfortable in the dress they were wearing. I also let them pick how they wanted their hair and make-up. Things just feel and look better when you and your squad feel their best, too! Oh- and leave your vendors a great review if they met or exceeded your expectations! It helps their business and they deserve it!

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding?

Jordan: I cannot recommend and compliment our vendors enough! They were all amazing. Brandon & Michael hosted our intimate rehearsal dinner in their backyard in East Nashville if you’d like pictures of that for a little backyard inspo! This was also our back-up wedding plan in case we couldn’t get married due to COVID! Luckily, everything worked out great!

If this is what a simple Sunday brunch wedding looks like, then we’re on board for more celebrations like this one! Thanks to Jordan, Bobby, and John Myers Photography for sharing this day with us.
