Loveless Barn Romantic Winter Military Wedding | Nashville

I have lots of respect for couples who are in long distance relationships – especially military couples. This adequately describes MaryAnn + Will’s relationship as they spent most of their dating life miles apart. But when the time came for their wedding after a short stint of dating, they had a lot to celebrate! It was also when they would finally live in the same city… together! They opted to stick to their southern roots by hosting their wedding at The Loveless Barn. There was a classic and romantic feel to their self-proclaimed “Barbie & Ken” dream wedding with hints of burgundy and gold. Photographer Joanna Marie Photography hit it out of the park with gorgeous classic shots in both color and black and white. See this incredibly gorgeous day along with MaryAnn’s comments below!

The couple’s story from bride, MaryAnn: Will and I knew of each other in high school- we actually ran into each other once when we were on dates with our significant others. Years later, I was swiping through (what else?) a dating app when I came across his profile and instantly swiped right. We talked for hours and he even playfully mentioned that “he was pretty sure I was his future wife.” Since Will is in the Marine Corps, he was living in Pensacola where he was stationed going through flight school while I was still in Nashville. Because of this, we didn’t actually get to meet and go on a date until three months after we had been talking back and forth. Luckily his entire family lives here, so he came home for a weekend and we finally went on a date. I can easily say we instantly fell in love. After four short months of 6.5 hour car rides back and forth between Florida and Tennessee, Will proposed to me by the big Poinsettia tree at Cheekwood. He wasn’t supposed to be home that weekend, so I was shocked! Our 11-month engagement was entirely long distance as Will soon moved to Texas, but with enough love and determination (and a lot of Facetime calls) we finally reached the day that long distance wasn’t a thing anymore.

Bride, MaryAnn on their wedding day: I really wanted a wedding that highlighted our love for Nashville since we both grew up here and so many of our guests were out of town Service Members. We picked Baskin Chapel since that was my home church, and The Loveless Barn because our love for all things Southern, Nashville, and not to mention their famous biscuits. My goal was to have Fall-esque decor that portrayed a rustic romantic feel with a lot of burgundy with rose gold accents.

Bride MaryAnn on special moments from their wedding day: We wanted to play on the fact that I’m going to be a flight attendant and Will is a pilot, so we made sure to keep that theme alive. We always get compared to Barbie and Ken, so we found a Flight Attendant Barbie and Marine Corps Ken and had him “dip kissing” me on the guest book table. I was fortunate to have my dad make all of our wooden centerpieces and my aunt baked and decorated the cake herself. I also spent a lot of my time hand painting the centerpiece vases and doing all of the calligraphy for the signage!

What a gorgeous, gorgeous day! Thank you so much to Loveless Events for sharing such a special wedding with us in their beautiful barn! You can check out more on Loveless Events’ venues, catering and more here on their website and also be sure to follow along with the latest on Instagram!
