Desirea + Andre’s Opryland Wedding by Grace Upon Grace

If you’ve ever wondered just how beautiful an Opryland wedding can be, then get ready to feast your eyes on the beauty of Desirea and Andre’s wedding day! Timeless and elegant, the two said their vows amidst the botanical atmosphere, incorporating Armenian traditions on behalf of Andre’s culture. Post nuptials they celebrated into the night with their loved ones and soaked in every moment of the day. Grace Upon Grace captured the best photos of these two and we’re excited to share them with you below!

How did you guys meet?

Desirea: In true Nashville fashion, we met while Andre was playing a show.

Tell us about your engagement!

Desirea: We were supposed to be driving to Philadelphia to spend Christmas with Andres family. He surprised me with a cabin in gatlinburg. The morning after the first night, we went hiking in the smoky mountains. After two miles, he got down on his knee in front of a huge waterfall.

What was the vision for your wedding?

Desirea: We wanted a timeless event in a beautiful setting that could accommodate our out of town guests. Andre is first generation Armenian. We are the only couple from his family who didn’t get married in the Armenian church so it was very important to us that we incorporated some Armenian traditions (such as the crowning ceremony. Our favors were his Dads homemade baklava, Armenian dancing.)

What was your theme and what inspired it?

Desirea: Classy, clean, elegant

What details were used to create your theme?

Desirea: We used a lot of white for a classy, clean look. Some gold accents and pops of navy.

Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?

Desirea: We definitely splurged on the venue, but Opryland made it so easy for our out of town guests to stay entertained.

What words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Desirea: You’ve heard it a million times but really, don’t sweat the small stuff. There are so many things going on that you probably won’t even notice those small things. At the reception, sit back, take a look around and soak in all the love you’ve brought together in that room.

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Desirea: Andre surprised me by playing (and singing) a special song. He had all of our closest friends packed on stage with him. Some of those friends had to bring their instruments on a plane with them! Andre played at both of his sisters weddings. I surprised him with his sisters playing and singing a song I chose for him.

So much beauty in one post… we’re obsessed! Thanks to Desirea and Andre for sharing their Opryland wedding with us and to Grace Upon Grace for these perfect photos!
