Moody Dinner Party Wedding at Noelle

Before small weddings were popular, Townley and Mack already knew they wanted an intimate celebration. They opted for a moody dinner party wedding at Noelle that had no shortage of details. With a luxurious palette including deep green hues, rich burgundy tones, and gold accents the decor really popped in the most elegant of ways. They even decided to weave in the palette into their stylish looks — Townley accented her beautiful gown with a contrasting bouquet and Mack with an epic green tuxedo jacket complete with a bowtie and cummerbund. Picking favorites of this day was hard because Mandy Liz Photography captured all the beauty so perfectly. Enjoy it all below!

Noelle ~ Nashville

Guests ~ 25

Budget $50,000 – $60,000

How did you guys meet?

Townley: I kept coming up on Mack’s ‘people you may know’ on Instagram. I had a public profile at the time and was traveling around Europe with my sister, Claire. He was following our trip and liking my photos. I noticed that he had liked several of my pictures and I messaged him to introduce myself! We met for a bagel at Proper Bagel the next morning at 7AM when I got back into town!

Tell us about your engagement!

Townley: Mack proposed at The Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina (our favorite vacation spot). We went for a New Years Party but he couldn’t wait and proposed to me right when we got into the hotel room. (Later found out her was nervous to carry the ring around because it wasn’t insured yet!). *Side note: He lost his wedding band 1 week into marriage so it was good foresight there haha

What was the vision for your wedding?

Townley: We wanted to have a small intimate gathering, we had decided that pre-COVID. We didn’t invite any of our extended family and just wanted to have a dinner party with our immediate family and closest friends. We knew we wanted to have dueling pianos for our entertainment, which was the highlight of the night for us!

What was your theme and what inspired it?

Townley: We didn’t really have a theme but we wanted a moody, candle vibes, dinner party in the ballroom! We wanted the vibes to be simple and elegant.

What details were used to create your theme?

Townley: Gold, black, hunter green, and white! My last name is White and Mack’s is Goldberg- also my husband LOVES a pun, so the color palette came pretty naturally haha

Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?

Townley: Splurges; our outfits, shoes and accessories, full open bar for the night- two happy hours! We couldn’t find a huppah in Nashville we liked, so we hired Please Be Seated to make this custom huppah for us. Also splurged on the florals! We saved on the extra kitchy items- we didn’t do any favors or a large cake. I also am a stationer, so I DIY’d my invitations with the help of my sister, Claire, with White Ink Calligraphy!

What words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Townley: Remember the main thing is that YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED! We can’t control the weather, a pandemic, what flowers are in season.. but you can focus your energy and time on writing the most beautiful vows and writing an intimate ceremony! It’s also free 🙂 Mack and I wrote our own vows since we felt so out of control with everything about our wedding day, and we knew despite anything that happened, we would be able to recite them to each other.

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Townley: We both said “We do” before the officiant asked us, haha! We had a short and sweet ceremony (10 mins) with a cocktail hour before and after! We practiced our first dance for 3 months leading up to the wedding- it was my favorite part of wedding planning!

Huge thanks to Townley, Mack, and Mandy Liz Photography for sharing this moody dinner party wedding at Noelle with us. This day is a perfect reminder that small weddings can still have BIG details!
