Today’s feature may have you green with envy. That’s because Alli and Alex had a modern wedding with tons of greenery that is so dang beautiful! Their summer soiree took place at The Cordelle which proved to be the perfect spot for the aspired backyard affair. They opted to keep the colors as timeless as the decor while enhancing a few key features, such as incredible beverages and cocktails from The Aero Bar! With a stunning outdoor celebration, their cute pup, and a vintage Jaguar getaway car to round out the details all assisted by Inspired Help, let’s just say this day that was perfectly captured by Kendall Parsons Photography is about to become your new favorite wedding inspo!

How did you guys meet?

Alli: We met on Bumble! I hit him with a “Whale, Hello There” gif and the rest was history lol.

Tell us about your engagement!

Alli: We were so lucky to get engaged on a trip to Cabo after dating for about four years. It was the first time we went on a big beach vacation with just the two of us. We stayed in the most beautiful hotel room with 60-degree views of the ocean and the arch, and he popped the question right before sunset at our dinner on the hotel’s rooftop. Luckily, he enlisted the restaurant’s manager to capture the whole thing on video so we could remember it forever.

What was the vision for your wedding?

Alli: We definitely envisioned a modern wedding with touches of classic white and a whole lot of greenery. For florals, we leaned into greenery bunches on the tables and on The Cordelle’s railing and our bridesmaids wore alternating colors of light and sage green. Then, we added pops of gold whenever we could like our cake stand, silverware, etc. But overall, we wanted our wedding to feel like a backyard garden gathering – and the perfect weather that day helped us achieve that!

What was your theme and what inspired it?

Alli: Above! Modern with a lot of greenery and garden party influences.

What details were used to create your theme?

Alli: We achieved a lot of the modern influence via our invitation suite as well as decor items like a neon sign, custom graphic programs and arched seating chart.

Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?

Alli: We definitely splurged on our bar! I work in hospitality marketing and I take my cocktails super seriously. When planning the wedding, we knew we wanted to offer well-made craft cocktails with fun garnishes and glassware. The Aero Bar definitely delivered. My highlight was our purple gin cocktail topped with a flower and a modern drink stirrer that said our last name. They also brewed up some insane iced and hot lattes as a finale to the evening which our guests loved. We saved on our caterer enlisting local favorites, Coco’s Italian Market. and the Cupcake Collection. I worked at wedding venues throughout high school and college so I knew I wanted a non-traditional caterer for our wedding. We also headed to Italy for our honeymoon so we thought serving delicious, no-frills Italian food was the perfect complement to the day. It turned out so wonderful and we even offered cannolis as part of our dessert spread with the cupcakes.

What words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Alli: Start early! We had the majority of our planning finished a year ahead of time so we could really chill and enjoy the moment in the months leading up to the big day. Also, we would absolutely recommend creating a Gmail account exclusively for your wedding. It was such a lifesaver.

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Alli: We loved having our dog Autumn in attendance! With the help of Paws Down the Aisle, she was able to walk down the aisle with us and stayed for the entire cocktail hour. Additionally, we were so pleased with our band, The Music City Sound. They did such an amazing job. We loved that they brought their own lighting system and once we brought out our dance floor props, the party really got started. Finally, our grand exit was so memorable with cold sparklers, gold pom poms and a vintage Jaguar getaway car.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding?

Alli: Thank you to all of our vendors who made it the most amazing day! Especially Inspired Help who was the biggest help in the whole world. She’s so amazing!

Love Alli and Alex’s modern wedding with tons of greenery as much as we do? We’ve got even more summer wedding ideas for you!
