Luxurious Floral-Filled Wedding at Schermerhorn Symphony

If you close your eyes and picture a candlelit dinner amongst a garden in Italy, what do you see? We bet it looks a lot like Alexis and Jalen’s luxurious floral-filled wedding at Schermerhorn Symphony! Together with ChrisFête Events, the couple worked with LMA Designs to bring their vision to life. A plethora of show-stopping all-white blooms intertwined with greenery were the focal point of the design. In addition to the arrangements highlighting key features like the aisle of their outdoor ceremony, the stairs leading into their reception, and base of their wedding cake, the flickering candles and gold accents along with their clean and classic color palette elevated the look even more! Alexis and Jalen certainly know style and once you see these photos by JAO Photography there’s no doubt you’ll be just as obsessed as we are!

How did you guys meet?

Alexis: 4.22.11 Our first introduction to each other was at a Northeast Middle School basketball game, in Clarksville, TN. We officially met through mutual friends at Northeast High School, and have been best friends ever since. Although we never had a class together in school, we managed to hide notes in the desks of Mrs. Zirkle’s Chemistry class to check on each other every day. We began dating and have been glued together ever since.

Tell us about your engagement!

Alexis: 4.22.21 On our anniversary, Jalen took the lead in planning our date, leaving me clueless about what was taking place. We wound up at Centennial Park in Nashville. After exchanging anniversary cards, Jalen popped the question! It came as a complete surprise, which made everything so much better. After, we got to watch Alivia dance her way through her softball game. Priceless!

What was the vision for your wedding?

Alexis: We wanted to keep our wedding day very classic. Our vision for our ceremony was a tuscan white garden. The vision for our reception was romantic candle lit dinner.

What was your theme and what inspired it?

Alexis: The Schermerhorn Symphony is so amazing, so we wanted to piggy back off of its beauty. We kept the the neutral and classic with the white florals and greenery to enchants it’s beauty. We were going for a Tuscan garden theme and I think we definitely achieved that.

What details were used to create your theme?

Alexis: All white florals, greenery, various wooden chairs, fan programs with tassels, and lot of candles.

Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?

Alexis: My splurge was definitely on the venue and florals. Splurging on the Schermerhorn Symphony was definitely worth it to us. We both love art and architecture so this decision was a no brained. The space is so beautiful and doesn’t necessarily need to be dressed up. Having everything in house such as places for the bridal party to get ready, built in bars, audio team, light team, and kitchen were very important to us. We wanted to give our friends and family a night to remember in a unbelievable, special place. The florals were a splurge, but the most magical part of the day! Lauren at LMA Designs worked with myself and my wedding Planning team to bring my vision to life in the most efficient was as possible. I’m still amazed! We saved by using places cards for our guest with names, table numbers, and food selection by White link calligraphy, instead of a oversized seating chart. It was a lot more cost effective and made serving dinner very fast and efficient.

What words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Alexis:There’s no one way to do a wedding. Do not sacrifice what’s most important to you, to afford a higher guest count. Do want you want, and most importantly do what’s in your budget.

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Alexis: My husband and I were actually married on 4.22.22 the day that marked our 11th year together since high school. We were able to having our wedding on that day because a few of our most important guest wouldn’t have been able to make it. We surprised our guest and shared that we were already married, but waited to share vows and exchange rings amongst all our friends and family. We definitely got a few gasps in the audience lol.

How incredible! It’s safe to say we’re going to remember Alexis and Jalen’s luxurious floral-filled wedding at Schermerhorn Symphony for a long time!
