Since the two share a love of traveling, they figured they’d make a vacation out of the exciting occasion! Their close friends and family headed to Park Hyatt St Kitts for the celebration that included an outdoor ceremony with the prettiest backdrop and pops of pampas grass, a reception filled with palm trees and dancing, and sparkler exit followed by a night swim in their wedding attire that may just be one of the coolest captures. Tell us about your engagement!
Lauren: We got engaged in Paris France April 1, 2019. We had planned to take some professional photos of Beau, my bonus son, and a few of all of us around Paris. It is my husband’s favorite big city. We had traveled there once before early in our dating because he ran a 1/2 marathon there. While we took some pictures at sunset at the Eiffel Tower all together and then with just the 2 of us, the photographer had me look in the opposite direction as a violinist walked up the stairs of the Trocadero playing ” a million dreams” from the greatest showman. Chris then turned to me and told me loved me for the first time then got down on one knee and proposed :). I had no idea he was going to propose ! I knew it would happen sometime soon, but I did not expect it to be on that trip to Europe. We took the rest of our engagement photos together with the 3 of us at the Louvre and around the Eiffel tower. It was Epic!
What was the vision for your wedding?
Lauren: We both love to travel so we decided to make our wedding a fun vacation for everyone. We chose the Park Hyatt St Kitts because of the beautiful resort and setting for the ceremony. I wanted to have all my favorite people there to celebrate with us and for everyone to have a great time. We had a welcome reception on Thursday night for our guests. We had a sunset happy hour at a beach bar on Friday night. During the day everyone had free time to hang out at the beach and pool.
What was your theme and what inspired it (e.g. farm, garden party, contemporary, modern, vintage etc.):?
Lauren: I wanted it to be dreamy, but modern and simple. The scenery around the oceanside ceremony and reception was already stunning. I love the Pampas grass as decor so I used that and added cream and pale pink roses.
Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?
Lauren: It was special to have all my closest friends there to celebrate with us. Ludacris had his yacht parked right in view of my ceremony. We had to have the resort call to ask him to move because I did not want a yacht in all my ceremony pictures. The ceremony was at 4 pm and he finally pulled off at 3:59pm! Walking out with my dad was really special to me. We chose the song The Wild by Mumford and Sons, the last 2 1/2 min of the song. It is an epic, explosions in the sky type of music. After the reception we all went and jumped in the pool together. It was so much fun!
What are some tips you can share with other brides planning their weddings?
Lauren: I would recommend destination weddings! Don’t stress over the small things. I just voiced what my vision was then trusted the planner to make it happen. I highly recommend our venue.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding?
Lauren: It was the best weekend of my life. I had all my favorite people at an incredible resort and it was perfect, a real life fairytale. My photographers were amazing also!
