Greenhouse Boho Wedding from John Myers Photography

Beautiful bright colors, macrame textures, and filled with an effortless style, this greenhouse boho wedding from John Myers Photography is surely one for the books! Jessie and Trey had a relaxed vision in mind for their wedding day and with a talented team of vendors, they made it happen. Long Hollow Gardens was the foundation to the details; of which included a plan B option for the ceremony since the Tennessee rain decided to fall on that August day. Both Jessie and Trey looked absolutely breathtaking, their flowers were gorgeous, the menu is mouthwatering, and every moment is just as endearing as the next! Enjoy these photos and beautifully curated video below!

Tell us about your engagement!

Jessie: Trey proposed on February 1, 2019 in our home right when I got home from work and getting my nails done (perfect timing). Our puppy/bff, Lottie, met me at the door with a note in her mouth that read ‘Will you marry my dad?” I love surprises and this was the biggest and best surprise I’ve ever experienced. Of course, I said yes immediately, cried so many happy tears, and haven’t stopped smiling since. This was easily the second best day of our lives!

What was the vision for your wedding?

Jessie: I dreamed of having a summer wedding with beautiful flowers at a unique venue. I wanted all of our closest friends and family with us and for it be a very relaxing and memorable day. We planned our wedding for June 6, 2020, but decided to postpone due to COVID-19. We were able to reschedule for August 21, 2020 so we were able to stick with a summer wedding and it really was the best day ever!

What was your theme and what inspired it (e.g. farm, garden party, contemporary, modern, vintage etc.):?

Jessie: I went for a boho theme complete with macramé table runners, amber goblets, hand dyed napkins, and beautiful boho-inspired floral arrangements. I mixed styles of bridesmaids dresses using the same neutral tone and ended up loving it! I used Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration and bounced ideas off of my MOH. Our venue was a greenhouse with gorgeous cobblestone floors., string lights, and plants. This venue did not need much décor to add to it’s beauty!

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Jessie: One moment that stands out is the ‘fake first look’ I planned secretly with one of my husband’s groomsmen. Trey turned around for the first look expecting to see me, but actually saw his long haired best friend wearing a white dress and the orange and white checkerboard socks he received with his groomsman gift. This was so funny to see from afar and to relive when watching our wedding video! My veil actually got blown by a fan as I started walking down the aisle with my Dad. It got caught on one of the guest chairs and stopped me mid-way down the aisle. I know this doesn’t sound like a highlight to some, but it got everyone laughing and totally lightened the mood of the entire ceremony. Laughing, I looked up and said ‘of course’ because after a postponed wedding and lots of stress, I learned I needed to let go of the little details and grasp the true meaning of this long-awaited day. I love looking back at the photos John Myers captured of this moment and laughing. My husband and I are always joking with each other so it just seemed to be a tiny pay back for the secret ‘fake first look’ I planned 🙂 When we had to make a call on moving the ceremony inside, my husband and I had a few moments alone to talk through this. I was sort of upset about it and didn’t want to decide. Having him there with me in that moment just calmed all of my worries and I think it was the moment the excitement of the day finally hit me. I was so happy to know that no matter the weather or any other plan changes throughout the day, I was getting to marry and spend the rest of my life with him!

What are some tips you can share with other brides planning their weddings?

Jessie: Be sure to pick a venue with a beautiful ‘Plan B’ option. It rained on our wedding day and I am so thankful that LHG is beautiful anywhere you look. They offer multiple ceremony sites and allowed us to make the call only a few hours before ceremony time. I would have never dreamed of it raining on our day, but it ended up just as beautiful inside and made for some really great umbrella photos 🙂 Enjoy the process! I know it can feel overwhelming, but your day will come together beautifully and all of your hard work will pay off. Be sure to be present in the moment and really soak in the entire day! There is nothing better than looking through wedding photos, watching our wedding video, and talking about how wonderful the day was. One day you will miss the wedding planning process so take a second to be thankful for the very fun season you are in! At the end of it all, you will get to live out another wonderful season with the love of your life. I promise, all of the stress is worth it!

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding?

Jessie: I just wanted to add that I had the absolute best vendors! They were all so wonderful to work with and understanding when we decided to postpone our original date. I’ll never be able to thank them enough for bringing our day to life!!

We are OBSESSED. Thanks so much to John Myers Photography and to Jessie and Tyler for sharing your greenhouse boho wedding with us!
