From the photographer, Zoe: Erica and Cole were married on a rainy Saturday on Memorial Day weekend, surrounded by 130 of their closest friends and family. We started the day with their first look outside in the herb garden next to the main house at Travellers Rest, followed by a few wedding party photos before it started to pour. The main house has a rustic, old porch, so we continued our bride and groom session, and wedding party photos on the white porch. Their wedding ceremony was inside a lovely, old barn, followed by a fun reception with delicious Southern food and plenty of dancing. They had a white confetti exit. Despite the damp, rainy day, everyone had a blast!

From the bride, Erica:

How did you two meet?

Erica: We met in first grade and grew up together!

Tell me about the “spark!” When did you know that he/she was the “one?”

Erica: I think we always kind of saw each other as the “one”. There was no specific moment. Just that feeling that you’ve found someone that really understands and genuinely loves you.

What’s your love story?

Erica: We dated once in 7 th grade, but it didn’t exactly pan out. Those awkward, teenage years really got the best of us. After we graduated high school though, we became really close friends. We worked together the summer before we left for college, and by its conclusion, we were practically inseparable. We relied on each other quite a bit as we began our new journeys away from our families. Finally, we realized we cared for each other as more than friends, and he asked me to be his girlfriend 3 months into our freshman year.

What are your wedding colors?

Erica: Steel blue, ivory, and white.

What themes/style did you choose for your wedding, and why?

Erica: Rustic/romantic theme

What was your vision for your wedding?

Erica: I mostly envisioned our wedding as a huge celebration with our closest family and friends. I definitely wanted a warm and inviting atmosphere, but I thought it was extremely important to incorporate some fun elements as well . . . it is a party after all!

What unique and decorative touches did you choose to make your wedding and dééòcor special?

Erica: I LOVE FLOWERS. Although they aren’t exactly unique, every single floral accent feels very special to me.
