Who was a part of your wedding team?

Leanne: Our cat Winnie!!! Our 2 friends, the photographer and videographer And Elvis of course!

How did you guys meet?

Leanne: We met at a bar in Sylvan Park, called Neighbors! Jordan bought me a Bud Light and the rest was history! He quickly became my best friend and biggest supporter!

Tell us about your engagement!

Leanne: Jordan proposed on the top of a mountain in Alberta Canada, with a secret photographer that he found through Instagram months earlier! We were at Moraine Lake near Banff. Jordan kept wanting to go to a specific spot on top of a mountain! I wasn’t too into that idea because we weren’t dressed properly! When we got to the top, the view was spectacular! He says “lets take a selfie”… so we did! Then he says “lets ask this random guy in that yellow jacket to take our picture” (he had a professional camera and looked like he knew what he was doing)! The guy in the yellow jacket says “how about you climb over that little fence onto the flat ground there, it’ll make for a great photo”. I was hesitant because it seemed dangerous and it was near a cliff, but we did it anyways! I go to put my arm around Jordan’s waist… and he wasn’t there. So I turned over to look at him… and he was on one knee!!!!!! He said “Leanne, I love you, will you marry me?” Turns out the guy in the yellow jacket was a secret photographer that Jordan had hired! The photographer told Jordan exactly where to meet him and which paths to take to get there! Which explains why Jordan kept trying to get me to hike to the top of the damn mountain in cowboy boots and a leather jacket! The photographer was waiting for us for an hour. There was no cell service so Jordan couldn’t update him on our where abouts or our ETA! He patiently waited for us! He told Jordan that he would wait for two hours and if we didn’t show up, then he would leave! So Jordan was a bit eager, but somehow kept the secret well, because I had no idea!! We immediately went into an engagement photoshoot! Luckily we were both dressed cute! I had no makeup on and hadn’t washed my hair that day… but I didn’t care!! The pictures turned out beautifully!

What was the vision for your wedding?

Leanne: We had a big wedding planned! We had the venue, we had the dress, the centre pieces, all the decor, the guest list, the songs picked out etc. We were ready for our big dream wedding! But we kept having to push the date due to COVID. We decided to get married and make it a fun, memorable event for everyone! We got married at an Elvis chapel on November 24, 2020!! We live streamed the event for our family and friends, as they couldn’t be with us due to COVID! I’m a musician and grew up listening to Elvis! I always watched people in movies and TV shows get married at an Elvis Chapel, but it never crossed my mind that I myself would get married at an Elvis Chapel! Our family and friends thought we were going to the courthouse to elope and were SO incredibly surprised when Elvis walked out. We also had our cat as the Cat of Honor! Our first dance was to Burnin’ Love! We made the day so much fun for everyone who couldn’t be there! We plan on having a big wedding celebration when COVID is long gone and making that a more traditional wedding! Now I get to marry Jordan twice!!!!

Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?

Leanne: After we got married, Jordan and I had a frozen pizza for dinner, a $4 bottle of champagne and a grocery store cake from the frozen isle. It was the most perfectly imperfect day! I guess this is what getting married during a world pandemic looks like! I wore a white party dress that I had for almost 10 years, I’m surprised it was still white! I also ordered some cute white heels and a short veil online! Jordan wore a white suit jacket and white dress shoes that he ordered online!!! We had the cutest outfits to suit the Elvis Chapel!

What words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Leanne: Forget about your vision of “perfect”! No one has time for “perfect” and you don’t need the pressure of feeling like everything needs to be “just” right. You can have a perfectly imperfect day amidst a world pandemic, and it will be something you will remember for your whole life! We made our day fun and memorable for everyone! We live streamed our wedding using a platform called EventLive. It was THE best! There were no glitches in the live stream, we got to save a copy of the entire event in hi res! There was a guest book for all the virtual guests to sign and the platform sent out automatic reminders to everyone on the guest list! It was very user friendly and no one had any problems figuring out how to use it! Also, the customer service is incredible! They were amazing to deal with! I highly recommend using EventLive to live stream your wedding!

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding?

Leanne: We decorated our cat Winnie’s backpack carrier with bows, ribbons and a sign that said Cat Of Honour!

Leanne: These videos feature a song I wrote about Jordan called Miles Away! We were apart for over 4 months due to COVID travel bans. I was in Canada and he was in Nashville! I wrote this song while in quarantine away from him, wondering when I’ll see him again and be able to marry him. “I can’t wait to marry you one day, when you’re not miles away” is the hook of the song! We got married shortly after being reunited!!!

We were also on the HGTV show Property Brothers in 2019. They renovated our Nashville home and featured my music!!! We have such an interesting 21st century love story!!! Thanks for sharing it!!!!

We adore this day and this couple! Thanks so much Leanne and Jordan for sharing your Elvis inspired elopement at Rhinestone Wedding Chapel and shining a light on how fun elopements can be!
