Tennessee Chapel Destination Wedding with Thoughtful Details

Prepare to Be Wow’d by This Romantic Chapel Destination Wedding with Thoughtful Details

High school sweethearts Courtney and Travis decided to tie the knot after 10 years of being together. While Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is considered home for them, they opted for a destination wedding in Tennessee, choosing Highlands Chapel at Howe’s Farm to set the scene. They had a mix of Pittsburgh and Nashville wedding vendors come together to make their day a success. Mariah Treiber Photography captured the essence of the day wonderfully including its seasonal colors, the guests all black attire, the nods towards their hometown, and the the southern tributes too! Courtney and Travis put so much thought into making their guests feel a part of their day. They included them in prayer during the ceremony, Courtney wrote handwritten thank yous on the back of each menu card, and gifted them with take away gifts for their furry friends who couldn’t attend. It was as perfect as a day could be. Courtney even used a scent diffuser in the chapel that smelled of sugar cookies. She did this so that any time she used this smell in the future it would instantly take her back to this day. The meaningfulness behind everything combined with the beauty in how it was presented is a real dream. Prepare to be wow’d by this destination wedding with thoughtful details!

Highlands Chapel at Howe’s Farm

From the bride:

Trav and I are high school sweethearts! We began dating in 2012 and can’t believe we are here ten years later getting married. It is our dream come true!” “I truly just want to capture Trav and I’s love in an authentic way. We are simple, old souls so I want to capture that. We are kind of quiet people, but also love to have fun. We are best friends first and I think our pictures should portray our friendship and the intimacy of our marriage as well. We are more likely to love a candid moment than a more formal portrait if that makes sense. I feel like capturing our love is done when we are just being ourselves!

From the photographer:

The couple was planning to get married in their home state of PA, but decided to switch things up, be adventurous, and move the wedding to TN! This wedding was a gorgeous combination of Pittsburgh/PA wedding vendors and TN wedding vendors coming together to make a bride’s dream and vision come true. It was truly beautiful to be a part of. The joy and love could be felt in the room all day and night. They had a beautiful outdoor cocktail hour with lots of seating from The Copper Quail and the Tipsy Tin “Wandering bar”! During the ceremony, the officiant asked ALL guests to crowd around the bride and groom for a prayer. It was a really beautiful moment with everyone that loved them and came all the way to TN to celebrate the beginning of their marriage. Super special!

The bride wrote thank you’s to each of her guests- located on the back of each menu card! They were handwritten and super thoughtful and personal. This I thought would be a good idea to note for brides/grooms looking to immediately thank their guests the day of for coming. Especially because everyone came out from PA to celebrate them! They even had a basket for guests to take home something for all the fur friends of the bride/groom’s pets that couldn’t attend.

Another cute and fun detail that the bride thought of was to use a ‘hotel collection’ scent diffuser in the ceremony chapel so that when she would use that scent in the future, it would bring her back to wedding day! something she researched beforehand and I thought was cute. I can still smell her wedding day! Sugar cookies!

Courtney and Travis’ destination wedding with thoughtful details is the inspiration we needed to see today! Huge thank you to these two and Mariah Treiber Photography for letting us share.
