We are delighted to share with you Michele and Bob’s wedding day. It’s not often we get to share an evening Nashville wedding. Their celebration at Belle Meade Country Club is a beaut! They kept things simple with a fresh color palette and light aesthetic to complement the venue. Additionally they kept their wedding parties small, but had a grand celebration with all their loved ones. Michele and Robert of Nashville wed at St George’s Episcopal Church and celebrated with all of their friends and family at the Belle Meade Country Club. on November 19th, 2022.
Their priority was ensuring their guests had a stellar night and they absolutely soaked up every moment of dining and dancing with everyone. The event was black tie and their guests arrived dressed to the nines. Once the music began, the evening shifted to resemble what we can only imagine a Gatsby party could have been like. Absolutely stunning venue, incredibly talented band, and guests ready to boogie. Every detail at the country club was fully dressed in stunning contemporary florals and designed to enhance the already elegant interior design .
Tell us about your engagement!
Michele: Bob proposed the Friday evening before the Labor Day Holiday when we were supposed to be heading to Josephine for dinner. Our first date was for lunch at Josephine and it is a very special place to us. He came in from work with a lot of flowers and told me to look under the flowers and there was a beautiful blue box.
What was the vision for your wedding?
Michele: After we were engaged, we were trying to first figure out a weekend that would work for both of our schedules since we are both very busy professionals. My mother had very excellent advice from the onset, which was “You know that you can’t wait to marry Bob so do not let any small detail take away from that excitement and everything will work out.” I must say that having this attitude and ending up with a short turnaround for our ceremony made the choices a little more limited but knowing we had picked a weekend that was not usually busy (and was an off UGA football weekend) made it easier. I was able to get all of my first pick of vendors and was able to find a dress. My husband’s parents were married at St. George’s so that was really special to us as well. I know I didn’t want a lot of color and just wanted white muted florals, which in winter made it excellent for selections.
What was your theme and what inspired it?
Michele: If you can even call it a theme, then I would say light, fresh, and classic. I didn’t want a lot of bright colors and wanted to focus on pretty white neutral tones with greenery. Also, our venue is breathtaking all by itself so less really was more when it came to a theme.
Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?
Michele: One of the best highlights from our wedding day was my husband keeping our honeymoon destination a surprise until that evening. We had a really quick turnaround between the engagement and reception and we only had 5 days off of work because of the busy season for both of our professions. We ended up going to Cozumel for a short vacation which was very quick and easy and had an amazing time over the Thanksgiving holiday just relaxing and enjoying the start of our lives as a married couple. We plan to go to France this summer for a little longer vacation that we have time to plan. I also was very excited to have my family members in our wedding party and my nephew as the ring bearer. Just because you have a lot of friends doesn’t mean you have to have a ton of bridesmaids and groomsmen. Have a very small wedding party made logistics a lot easier and all of my closest friends were still there.
What are some tips you can share with other brides planning their weddings?
Michele: The biggest tip I can give a bride is to not get too attached to any “vision” or “outcome” and enjoy the process. If a vendor doesn’t work out, then take it as a sign that it wasn’t meant to be. You also should also be more excited about marrying your best friend than planning a big wedding. Don’t forget that all of the celebration is about starting your life with your partner. I think sometimes it is easy for brides to lose track of what matters amongst the stress of planning.
