Rustic Wedding at Front Porch Farms by Meredith Teasley Photography

With a muted color palette of neutral shades, dusty mauve, and greenery, Meredith and William’s rustic chic farm wedding at Front Porch Farms could not have been more romantic. They said their vows under a big tree, which held more meaning for them and their love story and ended the day with fireworks. Meredith Teasley Photography has done it again and captured such beauty from this day. See it all below!

Tell us about your engagement!

Meredith: On March 30, 2018 William completely surprised me. I thought he was out of town in Birmingham and I was going on an Easter weekend hike with my parents, but little did I know William had planned the sweetest proposal. As I walked around the lake to the overlook, William was waiting for me with rose petals scattered, pictures of us, and he got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. I was so caught off guard and surprised in the best possible way. He even had my best friends, twin brother and his wife hiding in the trees for our special moment. After lots of tears and hugs, we spent the night celebrating with our best people at an engagement party eating tacos and cheers champagne. Our engagement was a long time coming and it was the perfect night to start our lives together.

What was the vision for your wedding?

Meredith: As I was growing up, I found myself dreaming of getting married one day under a big tree. There is something so beautiful about the way the roots grow underneath the tree keeping it grounded, which allow the tree to grow big and tall spreading its branches. The image of the tree is symbolic to our relationship and marriage in the way we keep each other rooted, but empower each other to grow. All that to say, the beautiful tree at Front Porch Farms was the perfect backdrop for our wedding ceremony. Our vision was to have a joyful, intentional day celebrating our love story.

What was your theme and what inspired it?

Meredith: Romantic and intentional with colors of Dusty Rose, Mauve, Neutrals, and Greenery.

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Meredith: Our wedding was full of sweet moments. From my mom helping me get into my dress to dancing to Lizzo with my bridesmaids right before the ceremony to my first looks with my dad and twin brother to kissing my husband underneath a sky of fireworks, there are so many special memories that stand out, but my favorite moment was sharing our hand written vows to each other and sharing communion. There was not a dry in the crowd as we poured out our hearts and promised forever to one another.

What are some tips you can share with other brides planning their weddings?

Meredith: Take time to pour into each other during the wedding planning season. From showers, to-do lists, writing thank you notes, and never ending decisions, it can be easy to get consumed by the planning. One of my favorite things my husband and I did during our wedding season was pre-marital counseling and intentional date nights. Soak up the joyous season!

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your wedding?

Meredith: Our theme for our wedding ended up being “It was Always You.” It took over 10 years to get to the point of becoming husband and wife and an amazing community rallying around us. Our wedding was a celebration of our story. A story that is full of ups and downs, back-and-forths, but it is ours and it is full of grace, forgiveness, and second chances.

Could this day be any more perfect?! Thanks to Meredith and William and to Meredith Teasley Photography for sharing this rustic chic farm wedding with us!
