This mountain engagement session by Billie-Shaye Style took place in the mountains of Washington state where Bre and Shane currently reside. The two hiked up rocks, embraced the flowing waters, and danced in the greenery amongst them all while looking glamorous and so in love. We know they say don’t go chasing waterfalls, but we’re saying DO it. Because these photos are so enchanting that our hearts can’t (and won’t) stop loving them!
How did you get engaged? Tell us about your proposal.
Bre: My fiancé surprised me at my family’s Fourth of July party and had everyone in my yard with roses lining an aisle. I walked out and saw him standing at the end!
How many guests are you expecting?
Bre: I’m expecting around 175-200 guests.
What’s your wedding budget?
Bre: My budget is around $12,000-$15,000. It will most likely be on the lower end, I have a lot of amazing family members who are helping me out with lots of things!
Who have you hired for your wedding team so far?
Bre: So far, I have hired my AMAZING photographer, Billie-Shaye Harper, I have my venue booked through Ironwood Farms, and I bought my dress from Adorn Nashville.
What’s your wedding style?
Bre: My wedding style is rustic chic, more on the modern side. I’m having black bridesmaids dresses and the only color will be the florals. I’m planning on having super bright, jewel-toned flowers and small touches of silver and gold throughout the decorations.
What’s your most fun purchase/hire to date?
Bre: This is a hard one! I had so much fun buying my dress, but I had a blast being able to shoot with Billie-Shaye in my new home state, Washington!
What aspect of being engaged has surprised you the most?
Bre: The amount of planning that it takes to plan a wedding!
What have you most enjoyed about being engaged?
Bre: I have loved being able to enjoy the wedding process and getting to experience all of these fun adventures with my fiancé!
Tell us about your engagement session. Where did it take place?
Bre: My engagement session took place in Washington state. We went to a few locations which were, Franklin Falls, Golden Creek Pond, and Meadowbrook Farm. Most of the scenery was either a waterfall, woods, or mountains.
What’s the significance of the location(s)?
Bre: These locations are right by where I live now. I am originally from Kentucky, but my fiancé lives in Washington so I decided to move out here with him. We met in college, so once he moved back, I decided to go with him. My first summer out here visiting, we went on a hike to Franklin Falls and we love going there. I also am obsessed with the scenery out here and I can’t ever get over it!
What was it like working with your photographer?
Bre: It was the most fun experience! She is absolutely amazing and willing to do anything to get the perfect shot. She is so fun and helped us be natural in each shot.
What did you like most about the session?
Bre: I loved the adventure of seeing all of the different scenery and just getting to play around with my fiancé.
Would you recommend the photographer and why?
Bre: I would 100% recommend my photographer because she did everything in her power to make sure our shoot was perfect. She hiked for us, had so many amazing ideas for us, and gave us the easiest and best experience all around. I couldn’t imagine a better experience.
