MidSummer Night’s Dream Anniversary Styled Shoot at 14 TENN

Blue hues and touches of gold came together for this MidSummer Night’s Dream wedding inspiration at 14 TENN. Two unique looks were designed; one elegant, with the other more rustic chic. In addition to the decor and details Callie and Josh (the models of this shoot) were celebrating a decade of marriage… how sweet! See the stars align and the love shine in these photos captured by Dolly Delong Photography.

Dolly: Callie and Josh, the couple of this shoot, just celebrated their 10 year wedding anniversary so we rolled this styled session into a celebration session of their commitment to marriage, love, and adventure together and had two main themes of the session.

We chose navy for our main color hoping to achieve a midnight summer dream with accents of gold to resemble the stars for the small hint of the “a night under the golden stars”.

Dolly: For the first look and theme, we decided to go with an elegant setup. With this look, we decided on a navy and ivory color scheme, heavily accented with gold. The gold accents included gold-rimmed plates, glassware, utensils, and decorative items. We wanted to liven up the place settings with a, so we opted for knotted napkins to frame the menu card. We added an ivory runner topped with a fresh eucalyptus garland that cascaded to the floor.

For the second look and theme, we went for a country-chic vibe. Being from the south, country chic is a constant front runner when it comes to wedding themes. This look was much more simplistic. We chose to go with white square plates wrapped in navy napkins. This look was completed by adding bronze lanterns to incorporate that down-home feel. We were also able to repurpose the bridal bouquets down the center of the table to add the final touch.

Dolly: The florist used these specific florals and greens because “Brides sometimes want lots of different levels and heights and textures in arrangements. The mix of eucalyptus, ruscus, and leather leaf greenery allowed a lot of whimsy and a very full and lively bouquet. And of course, baby’s breath is a bridal classic. It gets a bad wrap as a ‘cheap’ option, but it adds so much both in texture and in fullness, it never distracts or takes away from an arrangement.”

Flowers used were: Silver Dollar Eucalyptus and Rose Quicksand (blush). The florist chose to work with Roses because Princess Diana loved garden roses and that somehow makes them more romantic to her! She also used Garden Rose White O’Hara (white), White Stock (tall white blooms), Baby’s Breath, Israeli Ruscus (stiff tall greenery) and Leatherleaf (fern).

Dolly: As far as hair and makeup went, Callie had striking pale eyes so the makeup artist chose a light pink shadow color and framed the outer corner of her eyes with black, creating a soft, gradient effect, topped off with a pair of fluffy false lashes. The object was to give her eyes more structure on camera so they would instantly grab your attention. The hair and makeup artist kept the rest of her face soft with a flush of pink blush, pale pink lipstick, subtle contour, and naturally shaped and colored eyebrows to bring all the model’s features into balance.  For her hair — and she had an incredible amount of it —  We chose a sleek, modern updo that would look good from all angles and felt romantic and timeless.

We worked with the talented dress vendor, Sarah Smith of Build-A-Bride Nashville. The bride (Callie) wore the Build-A-Bride™  Ella Grace gown with the Clara skirt featuring two layers of soft tulle. Callie also wore the Build-A-Bride™ Middleton top which is handmade with French Alencon lace and features hand-covered buttons down the center back seam. Her veil was a chapel length clean edge veil. We wanted to feature the Middleton top because we wanted to show brides how easy it is to use as a transition piece from the ceremony to reception. It feels like a complete wardrobe change, but it is just a simple (yet elegant) top with soft lace details. It also paired with the elegant and country-chic theme as well!

Dolly: We chose the wedding venue, 14 TENN, not only because it is one of Nashville’s newest wedding and events venues to be featured, but because it has bright white walls and an expansive layout that draws so much natural light in throughout the room. It is literally a photographer’s dream and it was so much fun getting to transform this space into a Midnight Summer Dream for our 10 year wedding anniversary Session for Josh and Callie! Since it is located in the heart of Music City, we knew it would go with our Country-Chic theme, and with the expansive white walls, we also knew that we could easily transform this open space into an elegant midnight summer dream as well! Overall, the venue was an incredibly versatile space to work in, and we highly recommend any bride planning her wedding in Middle Tennessee (or even a destination wedding to Nashville) to look into 14 TENN.

Dolly: Another reason why we loved this venue so much is that they allow animals in the events space, so we were able to have Bear (the dog) be their stand-in “Ring Bearer”, and also Dog’s are Man’s best friend, and after being married for 10 years, every couple deserves to have a sweet pup by their side as they recommit their vows to one another!

Happy 10 years Callie and Josh and huge thank you to Dolly Delong Photography for sharing these beautiful wedding inspiration at 14 TENN!
