Tell us about the History and Culture Center + how long you’ve been in business.

Steve: The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County, TN is one of the nation’s most respected historic preservation societies. The Foundation added the History and Culture Center, originally built as a jail in 1905, to its portfolio in 2022 to open as an interactive exhibition space dedicated to telling its comprehensive countywide history, set to open in 2023. The Center currently and will continue to provide private event space to support the operation of the Center and Foundation. The Center began hosting private events under the Foundation in August 2022.

How did you get started in weddings?

Steve: The Center is no stranger to Weddings and events. This space has been hosting such celebrations for many years under its former ownership. We’re happy to continue to be a venue where historic moments live.

What’s the philosophy behind the History & Culture Center?

Steve: The History & Culture Center of Williamson County, TN is a destination for revealing our past and reveling in the present.

What attracts couples to the History & Culture Center?

Steve: Couples looking for a charming, historic wedding site with a unique style fall in love with the History and Culture Center’s exposed brick walls, wood floors, 4 fireplaces and ironwork, lending an industrial chic atmosphere.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about the History & Culture Center?

Steve: The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County, TN also owns and operates the historic Franklin Theatre. Couples have a unique opportunity to host their ceremony in this historic theatre on America’s Favorite Mainstreet, then travel the short distance to the History and Culture Center for a reception. There are many ways to make your special day fun and unique and historic venues provide beautiful spaces full of stories past and you’re adding to that history by hosting your memorable day in a historic site.
