Tell us about Guitar & Cadillac + how long you’ve been in business.

Kat: Founded by the Puckett family in the 1950s, Puckett’s Grocery once served as a country store to several communities in Williamson County for more than half a century. Andy Marshall, our founder and CEO, grew up in the grocery business. When he launched his own career in the industry at the age of 26, he eventually came to own several Piggly Wiggly stores in Tennessee and Kentucky. In the mid-1990s, Andy’s love of food, music, and community began to steer him in a different direction. His desire as a people-pleaser was to serve people more directly by using his passion for food. So, in 1998, he decided to sell all of his grocery stores and purchase a little gem in the heart of Leiper’s Fork, TN. That gem was Puckett’s Grocery

Today, Andy has since sold the Leiper’s Fork location but has expanded Puckett’s to locations in the downtown areas of Franklin, Nashville, Columbia, Chattanooga, Murfreesboro, and, most recently, on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge within the past 15 years. The Puckett’s brand also encompasses Puckett’s Boat House in downtown Franklin; Puckett’s Trolley, our mobile food venue; Puckett’s Events & Catering; and Guitar & Cadillac Hall in downtown Columbia.

Scout’s Pub, a modern, Southern pub concept, opened in 2016 in the Franklin community of Westhaven. In the same year, Andy’s daughter Claire Crowell, A. Marshall Hospitality’s COO, opened Hattie Jane’s Creamery, an artisan ice cream shop adjacent to the Puckett’s Gro. in downtown Columbia, followed by a second location in downtown Murfreesboro. The creamery was inspired by the Marshall family’s love for the all-American treat and is the first concept of its kind for our company.

We expanded further, opening Deacon’s New South in 2017. The downtown Nashville restaurant near Puckett’s focuses on upscale Southern fare with a distinctly Nashville take and features a visible dry-aging room, a partially open kitchen, and a sommelier-driven beverage program.

Each family-owned eatery in the A. Marshall Hospitality group focuses on providing friends new and old with home-cooked food and Southern hospitality, the Marshall way.

How did you get started in weddings?

Kat: Following the opening of Puckett’s Columbia in 2013, Guitar & Cadillac Hall held its first wedding in the Fall of 2015. When we initially opened our venue, the goal was for it to be utilized for weddings, corporate events, concerts, and more. We wanted to fill a void in Columbia as far as multi-purpose event venues go. While we still execute these other events, this space is truly remarkable for weddings. Once you walk into Guitar & Cadillac Hall, you are simply in awe of how spacious yet cozy the space is. No matter the size of your event, Guitar & Cadillac Hall always feels so intimate. Pair this ambiance with our delicious food, and you have an event that will truly wow your guests.

What’s the philosophy behind Guitar & Cadillac?

Kat: A. Marshall Hospitality’s vision is to define Southern hospitality with our incredible food, excellent service, and welcoming atmosphere. Ultimately, we want to provide the best experience possible for every guest and, as our mission states, “to make every person we interact with feel like family and to make every guest a fan.” Our core values define everything we do, and operating from a place of integrity with a servant’s heart is of the utmost importance to us. At Puckett’s or any other A. Marshall restaurant, you can expect the same level of service and quality across the board… and always accompanied by a bit of our signature Southern flair!

What are your strengths compared to others in your category?

Kat: Guitar & Cadillac Hall can totally transform between ceremony and reception, and that is something unique about us! The opportunities are endless for customization, and we have an extensive list of preferred vendors who know our space well and can make your vision come to life. We can host the ceremony on our stage and seamlessly flip the room for the reception, or we can host just the reception following an off-site ceremony at a church or other space. We also have a beautiful full-sized bar next to windows overlooking the Historic Square that let in plenty of natural light–the makings of a perfect cocktail hour!

Additionally, all of our food is made on site, and we have an upstairs catering kitchen designated for Guitar & Cadillac Hall. It is convenient to have everything all in one place rather than bringing in an outside caterer to a more bare-bones event space you might find elsewhere. Our service flows well, and our dedicated waitstaff is highly experienced and trained in event operations so you don’t have to worry about all the little details. Kat, our Event Sales Manager, can be as hands-on as you like and will guide you through every step of the planning process.

What attracts couples to Guitar & Cadillac (+ describe that couple!)?

Kat: The biggest attraction for Guitar & Cadillac Hall has to be its style. The venue is very much a little bit of Nashville nestled into the heart of Columbia, TN. It is Southern yet modern all at the same time. You can go outside onto the Historic Square and have so many photo opportunities within steps of Puckett’s–perfect for first looks, fun wedding party portraits, and more.

We work with many couples who want to have their dream Nashville area wedding without the hefty price tag that usually accompanies it. At Guitar & Cadillac Hall, you won’t have to sacrifice the style and other memorable aspects you want at the sake of cost, and you gain a charming, multifunctional space that is a blank canvas for anything you can dream up. We work with all types of couples, from ones who are more traditional to ones who want to incorporate all of the new trends on Pinterest!

What is the most innovative new product, service, style or other aspect in wedding venues that brides and grooms might appreciate?

Kat: The industrial and white minimalist styles are super popular right now, and Guitar & Cadillac Hall has just that! These are definitely timeless looks that will age well.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about Guitar & Cadillac Hall?

Kat: We’d love to connect with you to give you a free tour of Guitar & Cadillac Hall and see if we may be a good fit! We work with a range of budgets and feel confident we can design the perfect celebration for you and your future spouse.
