Tell us about Belles Fleurs + how long you’ve been in business.
Bonnie: I’ve been in business for 14 years, though I started working as florist in my parents’ flower shop as a teenager, almost 50 years ago! I have always loved working on weddings, and I started this business to be able to focus solely on bringing each event to life!
How did you get started in weddings?
Bonnie: After working over 40 years in the retail floral industry, I knew that I needed to follow my passion for weddings!
What’s the philosophy behind Belles Fleurs?
Bonnie: Our philosophy is that each bride is unique and their wedding should reflect that. We don’t do formulas or packages, we listen to each bride’s needs, preferences, and inspirations, and then create a full design proposal just for them!
What are your strengths compared to others floral designers?
Bonnie: Years of experience in floral design, as well as other members of our team having backgrounds in other types of design. We are also all trained in exceptional customer service and bring our best to every single client and wedding.
What attracts couples to Belles Fleurs?
Bonnie: We get to know each client personally and stay in touch with them for years to come. Before the wedding, this allows for us to help them define what items are most important and tailor the proposal and budget accordingly. It also gives our clients peace of mind because they know we are always available, will answer any question, and will make any changes up until the very end!
What is the most innovative new product, service, style or other aspect of your industry that brides and grooms might appreciate?
Bonnie: We work a lot with new types of dried and preserved florals like Pampas Grass and Bleached Fern that take a lot of care to work with and we often dry specialty florals or greenery in-house to get the perfect look! Recently there has been a trend of white florals and greenery that is beautiful and gives a very clean and elegant look, and we go through all of our pictures of similar past weddings to narrow in on exactly what designs within the style that the client is looking for.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about Belles Fleurs?
Bonnie: We feel connected to each client’s wedding and get as attached to each one as if it were our own family member, so it becomes personal! Our goal is to bring every client’s vision to life in a way that adds to the experience of their big day, and that they will remember forever!
