Charming Nashville Engagement Session by Eliza Kennard

Choosing meaningful locations to capture their love, Jennifer and Ben are showcasing one charming Nashville engagement session. After having to reschedule multiple times because of the weather, the sunshine came out to play bringing their warm and joyful smiles along with it! Eliza Kennard Photography caught the sweetest moments between the couple and we’re excited to share our favorites with you!

From the photographer, Elizabeth: Meet Jennifer and Ben – these sweet souls are tying the knot October 5th in Brentwood at Owens Chapel with a brunch reception immediately following at Ravenswood Mansion. I’m so excited about this celebration and this couple is absolutely incredible. They have been a pure joy to work with this year. We were rained out several times before finally executing their engagement session and it’s one I’m super proud of. We started at Ravenswood Mansion, worked our way to the Parthenon, and ended on the Pedestrian Bridge downtown where he popped the question.

How did you get engaged? Tell us about your proposal!

Jennifer: We had plans for several weeks to go to the US Women’s soccer game with Ben’s sister, so I was not expecting anything. We ended up going to Etch for dinner before and then on our way over to the “soccer game,” Ben proposed on the pedestrian bridge! Little did I know, the soccer game had happened much earlier in the day and that was just a ploy to get us to the pedestrian bridge. Then, both of our families were waiting for us at The Diner to celebrate!

How many guests are you expecting?

Jennifer: 175

Who have you hired for your wedding team so far?

Jennifer: Eliza Kennard Photography, Two Fat Men Catering, Rose Colored Days – Holly Parks (wedding coordinator), Infused Visuals – Alex Harp (videography), Southern Events (tent & lighting), Liberty Party Rental (linens), Hair & Makeup- Natalie Vaatstra, Owens Chapel Church of Christ (ceremony), Ravenswood Mansion (reception), Florist – LMA Designs

What’s your wedding style?

Jennifer: Classic, traditional, Southern, simple

What’s your most fun purchase/hire to date?

Jennifer: We had so much fun going to the catering tasting! We only went to one and we were sold.

Tell us about your engagement session. Where did it take place?

Jennifer: We started out at Ravenswood Mansion, which is where our wedding reception will be. This is also a favorite spot of ours because we like to go for hikes at Smith Park. Then, we went to the Parthenon at Centennial Park, which is classic Nashville, and we ended our session at the pedestrian bridge, where Ben proposed!

What was it like working with your photographer?

Jennifer: She [Eliza Kennard Photography] is AMAZING! She made us feel so comfortable and it was easy for us to be ourselves around her. Also, her pictures are beautiful!

Would you recommend the photographer and why?

Jennifer: Absolutely! She is obviously great at what she does and she made the day so much fun. She is also very easy to work with – we had to reschedule three times because of weather, and she was always very accommodating.
