Don’t say we didn’t warn you that this post may have you hopping on a flight sooner than you think!

Why should couples choose Costa Rica for their honeymoon destination?

Linda: Couples looking for more than just a beach destination will love Costa Rica. It offers something for everyone – natural beauty, adventure, boutique hotels in the rainforest or by a volcano, hot springs, etc. A paradise known for embracing pura vida “pure life” and what better way to begin your life together.

Which resorts in Costa Rica are your favorites?

Linda: That is a tough question – depends upon where I am.

If staying in San Jose at the beginning or end of my trip love staying at Studio Boutique Hotel – a hidden gem on the main street, rooftop pool, great restaurant.

If staying in the Arenal area, I love The Springs Resort & Spa. From amazing views of the Arenal Volcano, a world class spa, direct access to the natural hot springs, several pools to fit any mood, waterfalls, etc. Couples have to explore Perdido Springs together – seven spring-fed pools interconnected within a forest canyon, and unique dining experiences. No wonder it was part of “The Bachelor” when they filmed in Costa Rica. There’s also honeymoon rooms with private jacuzzi with views of the volcano.

If staying  in the Guanacaste area – I love Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica. It’s a five star adults only all inclusive with a great spa, you can book the Preferred Club Honeymoon Suite, great views of the ocean, private terrace with jacuzzi and upgraded preferred club amenities. I also love The Westin Reserva Conchal. It’s more of a a wellness focused hotel – situated on 2400 beachfront acres, a great beach, love the pools, do book Royal Section for personal concierge services and exclusive access to the Royal Beach Club Lounge, book time at the Heavenly Spa by Westin – even though this is a family friendly resort, the service here is amazing.

Which coast do you like to stay on in Costa Rica? Pacific or Atlantic coast?

Linda: If I just want to relax by the beach or pool  then the Pacific side, but if I want to go exploring then the Atlantic side. But regardless there are plenty of experiences to explore on either coast.

Tell us about some of the adventures you can book in Costa Rica!

Linda: White water rafting was amazing, zip lining, hiking to see waterfalls, the volcano – I got to see a sloth! It was my main goal of my last trip – such amazing creatures. You can also book horseback riding, if time allows, go down to Tortuguero, we took the river boat down which was in itself an experience, but there is also a small airport to save time, visit Tortuguero National Park – get up close to wildlife – the guides are incredible at spotting the near invisible crocodile, bird, snake or tiny frog. Or you can also kayak yourself, but that was a bit too close to the crocodiles for me personally. Do know that most of the hotels here are small, without air conditioning so just be prepared for that – the sounds of nightlife your entertainment.

What are some of the relaxing features about Costa Rica?

Linda: Spas and Hot Springs, taking time to breath and to enjoy the amazing food here.

Tell us about some of the other fun attractions in Costa Rica that are a must see!

Linda: Go on the Bijaqua Nature Expedition at night- spooky but exhilarating at the same time. If you are in destination during turtle season, booking a turtle tracking experience is life changing to watch her come from the ocean, labor to make her nest, lay eggs and return to the sea is just incredible. Also visit local farms for chocolate production.

Anything else you’d like to share about Costa Rica?

Linda: One important thing to remember is how the weather affects certain activities so plan accordingly for rainy season, or humidity in the rainforest, especially in the Arenal area most hotels are very small and book up in advance – for me personally, Costa Rica is to be explored, not a destination to go to for 7 days and never leave the all-inclusive resort so working with a specialist to plan your trip according to what you want to see , do or explore is very important.

Costa Rica Covid Requirements are ever changing. Click here for more information. As of 12/1/21 vaccinations are now required.
