The Barn at Sycamore Farms in Arrington, TN is a great venue to create a custom wedding. The natural wood barn with the most gorgeous chandelier can be dressed up or down for your Nashville area wedding. Plus, the barn has so many great areas to host your event – ceremonies outdoors, under the covered porch or inside the barn have all been done – and done beautifully! We interviewed venue manager Marissa to learn how to best customize the space (including utilizing their Prop Package!). Check it out below!
The Barn at Sycamore Farms definitely has some elements of character, however, the barn is very customizable! Tell us about some different looks you’ve seen in the barn!
Marissa: We have seen many looks at the barn including dramatic red accents with elegant draping in our main hall, to a rustic ceremony under our sycamore tree, and everything in between. We are simple enough to create any desired vision, and elegant enough for absolutely no added décor.
What styles and colors tend to work best in the barn and what styles/colors should couples skip?
Marissa: All colors look amazing in our barn! While you would not think red would mesh with the simple wood, it was dramatic and stood out more than all colors I have seen. Dramatic colors look great to match the drama of the chandelier and soft color pallets would beautifully to soften up the surrounding cedar wood.
How can couples play off of the gorgeous chandelier in their wedding design?
Marissa: The great thing about our chandelier is it speaks for itself, you do not need anything to make this anymore stunning. To dress up the room and elevate the space it its entirely, there is nothing more gorgeous than crisscross drapery highlighting the chandelier in the middle. How can couples work with their planners to maximize the space and create a unique design in the barn and on the property?
Marissa: We have a great added package, called our Prop Package. With a room full of décor, including centerpieces, lounge furniture, cocktail tables, farmhouse tables, whiskey barrels, chalkboard signs, and so much more! I encourage your planner to visit and incorporate these convenience options in their design. Lowering budget from rental items for their brides and empowering them for more items to spread across the venue, inviting guests to all the many locations to mingle on property.
What are some of the most unique designs you’ve seen at the barn?
Marissa: A bohemian wedding under the sycamore tree with the backdrop of the ceremony island was so unique and romantic. With lounge furniture and photo backdrop draping the ceremony island pergola, they utilized this ceremony location for photos, guest to mingle, and even staged a teepee with floral accents to go with their native American, bohemian theme.
