How would you describe your style as a couple?
Our style is usually modern/contemporary but we’re very laid back. We wanted something beautiful but intimate for our wedding!
How did you incorporate that style into your wedding (e.g. décor, colors, details or even picking the venue)?
We wanted an intimate but traditional/classic wedding. I wanted a stand-out ceremony venue with a bright, warm and inviting reception area. I chose softer colors to create a balance between the gothic architecture of Wightman chapel and carried that over into the reception space.
What was your (or your guests’) favorite aspect of your wedding?
Our guests loved Events at 1418!! We had great reviews on the food, desserts, and the cake! Can’t wait for our 1 year anniversary so I can eat the top of that cake!!
Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?
We splurged on our ceremony venue, my dress, and the catering. We saved by using our iPod at the reception, we put together a playlist of some of our favorite songs and used it as our DJ, it was perfect! We also surprisingly saved by having our BM’s gowns custom made. I found an amazing seamstress who did an incredible job for a really reasonable price!
Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?
I wish I had hired Music City Events sooner!! Sarah came in and pulled everything together without a hitch. The girl has a gift!
