Transforming the urban space of 618 Ewing into a romantic modern rustic atmosphere, Ashlyn and Clay held their Nashville rehearsal dinner, celebrating their upcoming wedding day with friends and family. As lovers of the outdoors, their decor was a stunning representation of the two as a couple and brought together perfectly with the help of Sarah from Regalo Design. From the photographer, Maggie of Maggie Reade Photography: One of my absolute favorite things about being a photographer is the connection I make with the beautiful people I am lucky to work with. It is so gratifying to work with someone in such a way that they trust you to capture multiple life milestones with them.
Such is the case with Ashlyn and Clay, one of the beautiful couples I was able to photograph engagement photos for last fall. Their romantic engagement was spent hiking through the trees, reminiscing on memories past, and eagerly planning for their upcoming wedding. We hiked (and danced!) along the Radnor Lake State Park wooded trails, and while we chased the most gorgeous rays of golden light for their photos, they told me their beautiful love story.
Ashlyn was introduced to Clay by a mutual friend, and the two soon fell head over heels in love. While the falling was the easy part- the two had a larger battle to face: distance. Ashlyn lives in Nashville, but as a professional baseball player for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Clay is away from Music City much of the year. Despite their physical distance, over the past 4 years, the love that Ashlyn and Clay share flourished until Clay (finally!) proposed in McCabe Greenway in January of 2018.
From the photographer, Maggie of Maggie Reade Photography: Before their gorgeous Nashville wedding at The Cordelle, I captured their chic rehearsal dinner held in downtown Nashville at the 618 Ewing event space.
Their wedding planner, Sarah of Regalo Design, transformed the urban space into a stunning minimalist celebration that was everything Ashlyn had dreamed of and more. With the help of Southern Events, Sarah transformed the couple’s idea into an unbelievable reality; essentially Ashlyn’s rehearsal dinner Pinterest board come to life.
The guests of this Nashville rehearsal dinner oohed and ahed over the food from Flavor Catering (especially the bananas foster!). They were even so kind as to provide all vendors with their own meal- and I can vouch for the ooh and awes of the attendees. Each course was incredibly flavorful, and left me hoping that they’d be catering all of my upcoming 2019 weddings.
From the photographer, Maggie of Maggie Reade Photography: As the night drew to a close, and all of the family portraits were taken, Ashlyn and Clay stood surrounded by their closest friends and family, glowing with excitement of the day to come. I don’t think there could’ve possibly be any more love in that room than there was at that moment. It was obvious that no one wanted to leave! Every bit of the night came together so wonderfully, and it was such a joy capturing this wonderful night for two dear friends.
Ashlyn and Clay, you are two of the most genuine and caring people, and I’m so excited to celebrate this exciting time in your lives. The life you will share with one another will surely be filled with an abundance of adventure, laughter, and love. Congratulations newlyweds!
