How did you get engaged?  Tell us about your proposal:

Miranda: Jake and I met in Knoxville, TN a few years back! We went back for a weekend of hiking and eating/drinking cocktails at our favorite restaurants and bars throughout the city. As we were rounding the corner to our very last bar; the bar that had been the site of our first date, he dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was so shocked and surprised and giddily happy!

How sweet! How many guests are you expecting at your wedding?

Miranda: 150. We are both Nashville transplants and are hoping our wonderful families and friends from throughout the country will do us the honor of being with us on our big day!

Who have you hired for your wedding team so far?

Miranda: So far, we are using Amy Allmand, of course, on our pictures. She is incredibly talented and we are so grateful! We have also hired Shane Nasby with Honeyfire Kitchen for the food – yummy bbq! We are having the ceremony at The Wren's Nest in Murfreesboro; a beautiful venue with a two story barn, big grassy field for the ceremony, and even separate houses for the bridal party and for groomsmen! Our good friend, Shayna Harris, is my planner and coordinator. She has a wonderfully strong background in catering and has such a creative eye for event planning! She has been my saving grace!

What’s your wedding style?

Miranda: We're hoping for a classic, elegant, yet “enchanted forest” look. Our colors are Cabernet red, sage green, dusty rose, and gold. We want something simple but memorable!

Oh my gosh, that sounds gorgeous! What have you most enjoyed about being engaged?

Miranda: The opportunity to brag about my sweet and silly and amazing fiancè! He and I have always had so much fun together and it's been absolutely amazing to plan a big party for our friends and family! We love dancing and music and delicious food and adventures, so we are thrilled and grateful to be able to share our big, fun, and deliciously sculpted day with some of our closest friends!

Tell us about your engagement session. Where did it take place?

Miranda: We decided to start at Narrows of the Harpeth; Amy's suggestion. We went exploring and hiking there one day and absolutely fell in love with the beautiful views and the serenity of the place! We accidentally ran out of sunlight at Narrows so we adventured back to downtown Franklin to take a few others! We explored the downtown area and had some beautiful pictures come out of that area, as well!

What was it like working with your photographer?

Miranda: Amy is so incredibly flexible. She lets us be our silly selves and makes it FUN for both of us! Jake was worried about being bored on the photo shoots and he was so ecstatic that it was exactly the opposite.
