Claire: Though my makeup business is relatively new, I’ve been interested in makeup for as long as I can remember. It started when I used my mom’s lipstick to give my stuffed animal a makeover, evolved into doing makeup for my theatre in high school, and eventually landed me here in Nashville for school. After completing the intensive Advanced Makeup course at the Academy of Makeup Arts I opened up a full-time makeup business, and I’m having a ton of fun! I love meeting, and getting to know, so many people, all the while I’m getting to use my creativity. I feel extremely blessed to be able to turn my passion into my career.
Claire: The first wedding I did was for my best friend: my sister. And while the makeup turned out great for all the pictures and lasted through tears and dancing, I found it was the process that mattered. I got to be with her closely through the hours and final moments leading up to the ceremony. She felt confident and beautiful on her big day because of something I could do for her. It was a huge gift. For me, bridal makeup goes beyond the products and techniques and is more about helping the bride feel her best. My goal is for my makeup to reflect how confident and beautiful the bride feels.
Claire: As a child, I was captivated by movies–both classic Hollywood films and Tim Burton films. These influenced my imagination in that I simultaneously wanted to be Katherine Hepburn and Jack Skellington. Both became my inspiration for both beauty and special effects makeup looks. My philosophy then is to approach each look with an open mind and let my imagination go to work. Working with a bride is the most important part to ensure her vision is brought to life.
Claire: I’ve been professionally trained as a makeup artist, so I’m not just a home-grown beauty blogger. Because of my schooling, not only can I cater my makeup to every style, face shape, color, and trend, but I follow strict sanitation rules. This protects clients from unexpected breakouts or reactions. If they’re happy, I’m happy!
Claire: I don’t charge extra for most add ons. Each bride/groom gets the same price – whether they want airbrush or traditional foundation, false eyelashes or not. I want each bride to feel special no matter what kind of makeup they want, so I won’t nickel and dime anyone. Plus, additional charges can be stressful when a bride and groom have an entire wedding to plan and pay for. No one needs that. I want the makeup process to be the least stressful transaction for the wedding, from the planning to the end of the reception.
Claire: Since I’ve been trained for a wide spectrum of makeup looks (from “no makeup” makeup to crazy special effects) I can cater to any bride! I’d love to help you get ready for your modern, classic wedding or your Halloween-themed wedding. Either way, we’ll have a blast!
