My Wedding Details
How would you describe your style as a couple?
We are fun loving, romantic and love to laugh. We love having adventures together and traveling.
How did you incorporate that style into your wedding?
We wanted a Southern, rustic, romantic and fun wedding and what better location than Nashville, TN! We picked the Pleasant Hill Mansion because it had a great outdoor area for a romantic ceremony and a great space for an outdoor party. The mansion’s inside is beautiful as well. The table décor, tent, draping and chandelier all helped to tie together the romantic feel. We did a lot of personal touches, as well. We had a memory table to honor the special people who could not be there, a frozen yogurt bar for the groom, a photo booth for fun pictures and a romantic, storybook ending with a sparkler send off.
What was your (or your guests’) favorite aspect of your wedding?
A lot of people said they loved the over all look and feel of the wedding. They said it was a storybook and fairy tale event. Everyone also loved the band! The band was great at keeping everyone out on the dance floor!
Our favorite part was how it all came together and being husband and wife! We loved being with our family and friends in one of our favorite cities!
Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?
The band was one thing we splurged on. We wanted a band that could play country music along with all other kinds of music and also make sure everyone was having fun and dancing. Our band came from Alabama, and they were great!!
There were many DIY and personal touches. The biggest DIY was that the I (bride) created all of the stationary from the save the dates to the invitations and programs.
Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?
There isn’t much we would change, but the one thing we definitely could not do without is to have great wedding planners that helped envision our wedding with us and made our dream wedding come to life!
In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?
Make the decisions together and listen to each other’s opinions. If you have a wedding planner, make sure to know they are there to help you and enjoy your day, relax and have fun!
