Melanie from Bella Bridesmaids: Bella Bridesmaids has been in Nashville for several years and under current ownership since October. Bella’s focus is on bridesmaids; for us, finding the perfect bridesmaids’ dresses is our primary goal, not an afterthought. We work with many designers to provide a variety of styles to complement every wedding, for every budget, to be worn by every lady!
How did you get started in weddings?
Melanie from Bella Bridesmaids: Bella began to meet the need of having one store where brides could go for a personal experience to find the perfect bridesmaids dress. I personally became involved after retirement. My daughter, who had bought a dress from Bella, found out that the Nashville location was for sale and told me I should buy it! I loved the idea, and so I did. For me, it’s more than loving weddings, it’s about celebrating marriage! It is worth celebrating! I love listening to customers and helping them create a beautiful vision. It’s an honor to be part of this special season for a bride.
What’s the philosophy behind your company?
Melanie from Bella Bridesmaids: Bella loves a wedding! And we love bridesmaids, the symbol of support and friendship that is represented. We work hard to help each bride have a memorable and personal experience when they visit our showroom. Weddings are very individual today, a personal reflection of the bride and groom. Bridesmaids dresses are an important part of expressing that individuality.
What are your strengths compared to other bridesmaid dress shops?
Melanie from Bella Bridesmaids: First, the personal experience of the appointment in the showroom. A bride and her bridesmaids will get the individual attention of a trained stylist. Also, the selection of dresses all in one showroom gives the bride a huge variety of options. And since Bella has locations all over the US, if the bridesmaids live in another city they can visit another Bella near them for a complimentary fitting. Finally, we use special software via the Virtual Showroom to make ordering simple.
What attracts couples to Bella Bridesmaids (+ describe that couple!)?
Melanie from Bella Bridesmaids: More than just finding a dress, people come to Bella for the experience… of shopping and trying on together, of receiving personal attention, and knowing they have a person with a name working with them from start to finish. We have a comfortable inviting space where everyone can relax and have fun… like dress up for grown ups! Bella clients like something special! I have people come in the store who are blown away by the beautiful selections. Wedding pictures and videos are something you will look at forever, and the bridesmaids dresses play a big part in making those memorable.
What is the most innovative new product, service, style or other aspect of bridesmaid dress shopping that brides and grooms might appreciate?
Melanie from Bella Bridesmaids: The Virtual Showroom is amazing! A bride leaves her appointment with a visual online portal where her favorite dresses are shown. She can invite her bridesmaids to see the dresses, and eventually order from there. Bella owners attend market in New York twice a year to stay up to date with bridal trends. Because there are over 50 stores, we have a great relationship with over 20 designers! Some of them have even designed Bella exclusives for us!
Is there anything else you’d like to share about Bella Bridesmaids?
Melanie from Bella Bridesmaids: Being willing to come out of retirement for this says a lot! 🙂 But seriously… I believe in what I’m doing! I have sewn for years, so I appreciate the quality of the fabrics and construction of our dresses. A designer is thoroughly vetted before they are sold through Bella. Because we’re working as a team of franchises, we support each other and work in collaboration to provide an amazing experience.
