Alice + Chad love being in the heart of it all. And their engagement session in our lovely city of Nashville is all about the heart! The couple enjoys vacationing here, and with the help of local Nashville photographer Jay Farrell, they documented their day hopping from honkey tonk to honkey tonk and topping it off with shots on the Pedestrian Bridge. Jay Farrell‘s documentary style photography showcases the couple as if they were in their natural environment – unposed as if the camera wasn’t even there. From all of their smiles, their love is evident among the tourist crowd. Take a look at more of their session and hear all about it from Jay’s perspective below!
From the photographer, Jay Farrell: Chad and Alice met in their home city, in an urban downtown area where professionals work and play. It was a random miracle encounter where both of them were in the right place at the right time and they’d unknowingly find each other! Fast forward, Chad proposed in the same place they met and it was an emphatic yes! It wasn’t long after that, we’d be doing this marvelous and romantic Downtown Nashville engagement photo session, where the couples loves vacationing! The couple wanted a documentary lifestyle capture, which is my approach for weddings and engagements, so nothing looks posed or contrived. So we were perfectly paired.
More from the photographer, Jay Farrell: We finished with some of the couple dancing at Rippy’s, a downtown BBQ joint and honky tonk on famous Broadway strip. I almost wasn’t allowed in because I had a backpack and new house rules. Well, me and my trusty Fuji got in and I left and my backpack with the manager. Thankfully they were accommodating to Chad and Alice!
