A Natural, Modern Nashville Elopement Styled Shoot by Rachael Ann's Event Design

There's a rise in one particular type of wedding as of late… the small intimate wedding! And lots of Nashville couples have been able to say these two words: We Eloped! Our friend Rachael of Rachael Ann's Event Design had an idea to style an elopement at Houston Station. With the help of Sarah Sidwell Photography, Rachael's styling dreams became a reality! The model couple perfectly exemplified an elopement and the decor… (those flowers Rachael arranged…!!!) brought out the colorful, fun and airy side of a spur of the moment wedding! We asked Rachael to share more about the shoot and her inspiration – keep scrolling to read the story and see more photos from Sarah!

Tell us about the shoot vision!

Rachael: The vision of the shoot was to highlight an elopement and the intimate moments couples share when their special day is shared with just the two of them. Elopements are what many couples are choosing to do now and wanted to show that an elopement can still be planned and beautiful but keep the simple feel.

What was the theme and what inspired it?

Rachael: Just a party for the two of them was the inspiration and theme behind the shoot. I definitely wanted the shoot to have a modern and classic feel to it but keeping the theme throughout that it was just about the two of them.

What details were used to create the theme?

Rachael: I brought in bright colors with the florals, calligraphy, and the grooms bow tie which brought in the brightness and cheerfulness between the two of them. With the rentals I wanted to bring in the modern feel with the metals and wood put together in a unique way and Liberty has a great selection of modern pieces. LVD also was an amazing help choosing the dress that fit the theme and the model bride perfectly. It was simple with not a lot of fuss but also absolutely beautiful and classic.

Can you share any special moments or highlights of the day?

Rachael: I just love working with other vendors in such an intimate setting. Sarah Sidwell and I have an amazing friendship and work relationship that we can just know what each other is thinking and makes working together so easy and she creates such beautiful photos. The bride and groom models were amazing to work with. They have an amazing connection and were having so much fun with the shoot that it made it very easy for us. With champagne flowing and toasting going on throughout the entire shoot, it was definitely a very special and gorgeous day.

Absolutely beautiful work, Rachael! You can check out more of her planning and floral work on her website here. Also, make sure you follow her on Instagram
