Adrianne + Tony’s Fun, Romantic, Eclectic East Nashville Outdoor Wedding

Friday, September 8, 2017

One thing that is hard to do during the wedding process is to stay cool, calm and collected - things pop up (they always do!) and rolling with it is the best way to handle anything that comes your way. Adrianne + Tony's casual and comfortable wedding provided a relaxed feel for the guests that also oozed from their personalities. Photographer Mandy Whitley captured the day at Pavilion East with every detail in place - from the carefully crafted taco bar to the bride's "something blue" converse sneakers. Records spun as guests enjoyed the May day... see it all in action below!

From the photographer, Mandy Whitley: Adrianne & Tony are very much in love and were truly so easy to work with. They were very relaxed throughout the planning process and on their wedding day. We did their photos at their downtown condo, Encore and then along the Cumberland River with a great view of downtown Nashville. Their wedding ceremony & reception was at the Pavilion East, in eclectic East Nashville. There they had BBQ, a DJ spinning records and beautiful dream catchers they incorporated into some of the photos. They have one cat, Pino, who got in on the getting ready images, but sadly couldn't come to the wedding. :)

James + Bianca’s Glamorous Blush Wedding at Hutton Hotel by Paige Brown Designs

Wednesday, August 16, 2017

This wedding makes my glam heart go pitter patter! And when a bride gives her planner and designer full reign of design, you're sure to have one fabulous wedding. Especially when that planner and designer is Paige of Paige Brown Designs! The whole ballroom at The Hutton Hotel was dripping in diamonds - from the countless chandeliers to the intricate draping and details everywhere you turn, it was such a beautiful sight to see! I interviewed Paige to tell us all about the day and how she came up with this jaw-dropping design. Check it all out below!

Tell us about the couple's vision.

Paige: Bianca's wedding vision was light and airy with tons of crystal details and soft blush and muted colors. She was very laid back during the entire design process and trusted us completely to execute her wedding vision. As a matter of fact, Bianca was a little too laid back! She honestly just showed up on her wedding day, having very little knowledge of what all her design details would consist of. Needless to say, Bianca was blown away on her wedding day and it was truly a pleasure to bring her wedding wishes to life!

What details were used to create their theme?

Paige: Blush, nude, and golden colors, crystals, and acrylic/lucite details. Lush florals and Cherry Blossom branches.

Can you share any special moments or highlights of their wedding day?

Paige: I love couples like James and Bianca whose love is blatantly evident! The entire process gave me chills. They were very focused on the wedding, but even more focused on marriage after their wedding day.

Did they have any special requests or unique challenges that you had to work together to overcome?

Paige: Bianca's rings were VERY important to her. The ceremony and reception took place at separate locations. Once Bianca made it to the church, she realized her Maid of Honor left the wedding rings back at the hotel. There was a horrible wreck on the interstate, but Bianca insisted that guests wait until their rings arrived. One hour later, we started the ceremony! :)

Thank you so much for sharing this wedding with us, Paige! It's STUNNING! You can check out more of Paige Brown Designs' portfolio here on her website and also be sure to follow her on Instagram!

Jacqueline + Christian’s Urban Enchanted Garden Wedding at Houston Station

Friday, August 11, 2017

Vision - you see images on Pinterest, in your head, or even on a wedding blog like this one and seeing it come alive has it's risks. And in the case of Jacqueline + Christian's Houston Station wedding in March, their vision exceded expectations IRL! The cascading floral light fixture as the centerpiece of their wedding was absolutely stunning! The deep reds mixed with turquoise was a great color choice as winter turned to spring and the setting of the urban, industrial Houston Station created an environment unlike any other. Frozen Exposure so beautifully captured the day and Jacqueline + Christian's love story! Read below to hear all about their day straight from Jacqueline...

Tell us about your engagement!

Jacqueline: Well...we are high school sweethearts. Been together since we were both sixteen, so it was long awaited. Christian picked me up from work and I thought we were going to dinner for his birthday. He made up some elaborate story about why we needed to go to the pedestrian bridge and I unknowingly went along with it. When we got to the middle of the bridge he got down on one knee and proposed. Funny thing is, before I asked him I said "did you ask my dad" and then I said YES!

What was your theme and what inspired it?

Jacqueline: Enchanted Garden. I wanted it to feel enchanting and romantic with an urban/geometric twist. I think we for sure accomplished this. The hanging floral chandeliers were the highlight for me. Gorgeous, [in person!].

Where did you splurge?  Where did you save/DIY?

Jacqueline: I tried to evenly distribute throughout. I did splurge on my wonderful photographer/videographers though!

What words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Jacqueline: Live in the moment because it goes by so quickly! And don't sweat the small stuff, have fun!

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Jacqueline: The whole day was special!!! Seeing my husband, dad and brother for first looks were pretty special though.

Thank you so much for sharing your wedding with us, Jacqueline! You can check out more on the urban, inddustrial wedding venue, Houston Station right here in Nashville, TN on their website here. And also make sure you check them out on Instagram!

Missy + Paul’s Casual Backyard Wedding in Nashville by And How! Imaging

Friday, June 16, 2017

Simple + sweet weddings are some of my favorite weddings! And Missy + Paul's wedding was just that! They married on a private property on a warm October day with a DIY wooden door ceremony backdrop, a laid-back tented reception and all the love surrounded by friends + family. I love their wedding vibe and from the smiles across everyone's faces + the super fun group photos, it seems as though they have such a tight-knit group of friends... my kind of people! Amy + Chuck of And How! Imaging captured both the silly moments and the deeply heartfelt moments so wonderfully - this wedding really captures the essence of the couple. Take a look at all their details below along with a snippet from Amy on the wedding from her perspective...

DJ | Your Dj Robert Luke

From the photographer, Amy of And How! Imaging: Missy and Paul's backyard wedding really reflected their laid back and fun personalities. They let go of so much stress and pressure that can often go along with weddings, and instead focused on what was important to them and just had a total blast with each other (and their closest family and friends!) It was such a beautiful day, and while we were surrounded by laughter, shenanigans, and a few happy tears, we were reminded of just how incredible our jobs are.

Some of our favorite highlights from their wedding day include Paul and his groomsmen pulling off their best "hangover" impressions (#squadgoals) while walking down their neighborhood street. Their first look was absolutely fantastic and could have melted the coldest of hearts, but still didn't stop the beautiful reaction Paul had when he saw Missy walking towards him down the aisle- as soon as she reached him they started their ceremony with (several) kisses. Also, their first dance, done to "Home" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, was so sweet- you could tell they were both just incredibly happy.

We loved having the opportunity to meet these two awesome people, and then photograph their full wedding journey- from their engagement session, to their wedding, and then finishing up with a day after session as newlyweds!

I love this wedding, Amy + Chuck! Thank you for letting us in on Missy + Paul's special day! You can check out more of And How! Imaging's work here on their website and also here on Instagram!

Meredith + Eric’s Spring Wedding at Ascend Amphitheater by Smash Studios Photography

Friday, June 2, 2017

What do you get when you mix a downtown wedding, family heirlooms, artistic touches + even a London cab? Meredith + Eric's wedding! Their wedding took place on April Fools' Day, but let me tell you, it was no joke! As much of their relationship was based around music, their decision to break the mold and be the very first wedding at Ascend Ampitheater really shows how personalized and throught out their wedding was. The Nashville vibe was present throughout their day - with the Pedestrian Bridge as the backdrop of their wedding ceremony, skyline place cards for each guest and even Goo Goo Clusters available for guests to eat - it was truly magical! Take a look at all their gorgeous photos by Ashley of Smash Studios Photography and hear their unique story from Ashley's point of view below!

Meredith + Eric Ashford

Wedding Team:

Photographer | Smash Studios Photography

Event Venue | Ascend Ampitheater

Rentals | M&M Event Rentals

Caterer | Copper Kettle

Beauty | The Blowout Co.

Dress Store | The White Room

From the photographer, Ashley of Smash Studios Photography: Meredith and Eric met online and began dating long distance in 2014. Eric moved to Nashville later that year, and they fell in love (he told her first loved her on the Pedestrian Bridge)! Eric sends Meredith a song every Friday on Spotify, and last September, Meredith found it odd that she hadn't received hers yet. After a dinner at Eastland Cafe, Eric told her to check her phone, and he had sent "It Had to Be You" from Meredith's favorite move, When Harry Met Sally. He then asked Meredith to marry him with a diamond passed down through his family.

Meredith and Eric had the FIRST EVER wedding at Ascend Ampitheater this past April, and the weather was perfect. Meredith got ready at Blowout in the Gulch, and she and Eric had their first look on the stage at Ascend. They incorporated tons of personal touches into their day-- photos with their dog, Lois Lane, Meredith's grandmother's handkerchief around her bouquet (which was made by a friend), and Eric's sister was the officiant! They also incorporated their favorite city, Nashville! They took photos around the Ampitheater, made the place cards in the shape of the skyline, and Eric even sketched the skyline HIMSELF for the save the dates, and had the sketch displayed on the screens in the room. They honeymooned in London, so it was only fitting that their getaway car was a hansom cab!

Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful wedding with us, Ashley! You can check out more of Smash Studio Photography's work here on her website and also be sure to follow her on Instagram!
