Elizabeth + Casey’s Glamorous Wedding in the Woods by Chad Erickson Photography

Friday, May 19, 2017

Geometric shapes, geodes + jewel tones are all the rage which is why I'm SO excited to share Elizabeth + Casey's wedding with you today! Devon of Meet Cute Event Planning helped design the couple's day to fit their modern aesthetic into a woodsy setting. And adding a little sparkle never hurt anyone! :) I am in awe of Elizabeth + Casey's DIY geometric installations hanging from the ceiling and next to their sweetheart table! Can I just have some for my house? Their love showed through in every moment captured by photographer Chad Erickson. And their adventurous spirit was so beautifully displayed when they suggested to stand on a cliff for a wedding photo! Check out all their photos below as well as exerpts from Chad about what it felt like to photograph this beautiful day...

Tell us about Elizabeth + Casey!

Chad: The couple were best friends before they started dating. They met at a camp after a time apart and started up a romantic relationship. As camp was a big part of their story, they decided on an outdoor wedding at a state park they loved.

Tell us about their vision!

Chad: Devon of Meet Cute Event Planning described the wedding as a "glamorous wedding in the woods". They wanted to keep it intimate with a heavy focus on the natural surroundings.

What was their theme and what inspired it?

Chad: Devon's idea was to use a variety of metals and geometric shapes and themes to bring a bit of sparkle to the golden Tennessee fall atmosphere. "A night to shine for this couple who brighten each other's lives and all those around them!".

What details were used to create the theme?

Chad: Devon used geodes as her main inspiration for color and theme. The groom, Casey, spent weeks in advance building the wooden cube and geometric shapes that were used as table decorations as well as the giant hanging art installation that hung above the cake.

Can you share any special moments or highlights of their wedding day?

Chad: I knew they were an adventurous couple, but I didn't realize how much until they told me they wanted to walk out onto the ledge of a cliff and take pictures. It wasn't super high, but the small size of the ledge combined with the tremendous size of the dress and the fall leaves had me sweating a bit. But they made it with no problems, and we got some great portraits of them.

Did they have any special requests or unique challenges that you had to work together to overcome?

Chad: Everything went off without a hitch as far as I can remember. Mostly due to an extraordinary amount of planning and an overall laid back attitude.

Thank you so much for sharing Elizabeth + Casey's wedding with us, Chad! You can find more of Chad Erickson's work here on his website and also be sure to follow him on Instagram!

From the photographer, Abigail Bridges: Dreamy flowers and a cozy cabin make any winter day much less dreary. This styled shoot was something that we thought would be a great way to kick the winter blues away. And it certainly did! We chose a homey little cabin that added warmth and style as the location. We wanted the flowers to be a statement piece, but also chose to add a variety of texture for depth. We went with fabrics that offered nuances in texture and neutral undertones and some earthy details as well. A simple bohemian wedding gown and classy tux were the looks we chose for our models, Mike and Holly. Cascading hair and a soft lip and eye made this look perfectly boho. We loved the bright florals paired with simple and earthy textures to pull off this dreamy bohemian look.

Bohemian Spring Wedding Inspiration by Brasspenny Photography

Monday, March 27, 2017

Spring is alive and well! Which is why I'm so excited to share this bright and modern styled shoot with you today from Brasspenny Photography! The minimalistic style (which is one of my favorite wedding looks) created a surreal desert-like experience. The geometric shapes mixed with succulents and geodes would normally call for a neutral muted look, but I am totally loving the pops of rose quartz, blues and purples that make this shoot stand out! The watercolor invitation suite and bohemian wedding dress give the photos a laid-back vibe while keeping a clean look. Keep scrolling to find more of Brasspenny Photography's photos along with an exerpt on her inspiration behind the shoot!

From the photographer Rachel Tenpenny of Brasspenny Photography: Part of what people don't tell you about becoming a somewhat successful creative, is that your time to play is cut short. So putting this little styled shoot together was a way to get to play at what I love to do. And since we're all so busy once wedding season fully kicks in, February was a cloudy but appropriate time to make the shoot happen. We wanted to incorporate rose quartz hue in a subtle manner, and once we started putting the hues we liked together, we realized we kind of had this muted desert vibe. From there the inspiration evolved fairly naturally. It seemed like keeping it somewhat minimalistic would be fitting. Succulents and cactus, raw quartz and geodes, and a breathtaking but *different* gown really set the look into place.

Thank you so much for sharing this shoot with us, Rachel! You can check out more of Brasspenny Photography's work here on Rachel's website and please make sure you give her a follow on Instagram here! LOVE this look for spring!

Though the fun and games of the night were such a treat, my favorite part was seeing such dear friends of mine and meeting so many new ones! So much fun was had and I hope it brought joy to everyone who attended. Nashville Bride Guide would not be here without the love and support of each and every one of you reading this! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the words of encouragement that were shared with me, the kind emails and messages and all of the photo sharing on Instagram. Acme Events at The Hatchery: An Urban Nashville Downtown Wedding Venue Space

Tuesday, February 21, 2017

Today's the day! We've been counting down for months now and working hard on our Nashville Bride Guide Launch Party! Acme Feed & Seed is so gracious to host us for the event! Plus, they are providing some delicious desserts for us to try. You've known Acme Feed & Seed resides at 101 Broadway where it's all happening in Nashville - with 4 glorious floors of space with plenty of options to tickle your fancy. But did you know about their 3rd floor The Hatchery? This is where the #NBGLaunch is taking place and we must say - it's the perfect industrial downtown wedding venue in Nashville! With historical brick walls and large windows and ceilings to the gorgeous wood floors, there's plenty of open space to decorate any way you want to! I could go on, but I'll let the good folks at Acme Feed & Seed take it from here!

Tell us about The Hatchery!

The Hatchery on the 3rd Floor of the Acme is the largest one-level event and music venue on Lower Broadway, with a capacity of 200 seated, 350 for a standing reception and 499 for a concert. Inspired by the long held moniker of the building, Acme Feed & Hatchery, the 7,000 square foot venue provides unparalleled character, historic charm and an open floor plan with endless opportunity to transform the space. Located in the heart of downtown Nashville with views of the Cumberland River, Nissan Stadium and Riverfront Park, The Hatchery offers a truly one-of-a-kind and uniquely “Nashville” setting ideal for any event. Acme Feed & Seed opened in 2014, however the building has been here for over a century.

What are some amenities that are unique to Acme and unlike other wedding venues in Nashville?

Acme is a very historic venue. With our location at the prime spot in downtown Nashville, there's so much we can offer to brides! Serving TomKats catering gives us an edge where brides can choose their menus in-house. Our service regarding your event details is bar none. We can even source your event entertainment! Customized Acme retail is another perk of the venue - so you can take home some Acme branded treasures to remember your day by. Adding an extra element of how walkable Acme is - you can step right out onto Broadway and continue the party at one of the local honkey tonks (or one of our other floors!).

What attracts brides to The Hatchery?

The Hatchery provides tons of natural light for day weddings! The tall windows on two perimeter walls give guests the view of downtown Nashville while the light makes the space very photogenic. Not to mention, there's so much history in the century old building - we've renovated it to create a raw event space to suit your own taste and style. Another reason brides are attracted to The Hatchery is our food! We have over 30 years of catering experience in Nashville and our menus are so unique to each and every event. We even cater to the stars! Plus, the 4th floor has been named top rooftop in America!

Wow - with an all-inclusive service for your wedding, you won't even have to think about outside food, drinks, tables, chairs + more! The Hatchery provides so much ease to your planning process (I know first-hand!) and gives you one of the coolest vibes for your Nashville wedding! Be sure to check them out here on their website and follow along on their events Instagram page here
