Bohemian Spring Wedding Inspiration by Brasspenny Photography

Monday, March 27, 2017

Spring is alive and well! Which is why I'm so excited to share this bright and modern styled shoot with you today from Brasspenny Photography! The minimalistic style (which is one of my favorite wedding looks) created a surreal desert-like experience. The geometric shapes mixed with succulents and geodes would normally call for a neutral muted look, but I am totally loving the pops of rose quartz, blues and purples that make this shoot stand out! The watercolor invitation suite and bohemian wedding dress give the photos a laid-back vibe while keeping a clean look. Keep scrolling to find more of Brasspenny Photography's photos along with an exerpt on her inspiration behind the shoot!

From the photographer Rachel Tenpenny of Brasspenny Photography: Part of what people don't tell you about becoming a somewhat successful creative, is that your time to play is cut short. So putting this little styled shoot together was a way to get to play at what I love to do. And since we're all so busy once wedding season fully kicks in, February was a cloudy but appropriate time to make the shoot happen. We wanted to incorporate rose quartz hue in a subtle manner, and once we started putting the hues we liked together, we realized we kind of had this muted desert vibe. From there the inspiration evolved fairly naturally. It seemed like keeping it somewhat minimalistic would be fitting. Succulents and cactus, raw quartz and geodes, and a breathtaking but *different* gown really set the look into place.

Thank you so much for sharing this shoot with us, Rachel! You can check out more of Brasspenny Photography's work here on Rachel's website and please make sure you give her a follow on Instagram here! LOVE this look for spring!

From the designer, Paige Brown: I daydream all of the time. There is so much beauty and creativity that lives within our imagination. It's there where anything is possible. I had a vision of a beautiful woman walking through an enchanted garden in a gorgeous silk gown at her flawlessly beautiful mansion. I took that vision and created an entire narrative around it.

I truly believe every woman deserves a fairytale experience at least once in their lifetime. ESPECIALLY on their wedding day. That's what Paige Brown Designs is all about... The magic and beauty of making fairytale wedding wishes a reality.

This couture shoot was inspired by Vogue and all things fabulous.

Wow - thank you so much for sharing this incredibly dreamy shoot with us, Paige! You can check out more of Paige Brown Designs' work here on her website. And be sure to give her a follow on Instagram here!

2017 Red Carpet Gown Inspiration for Your 2017 Wedding Gown

Thursday, March 9, 2017

One of my favorite times of year, award season, has recently come to a close... which means I'm still over here looking at all of the beautiful gowns that made their debut on the red carpet this year! And guess what, WHITE was a huge trend this 2017 award season! So obviously the cloud of white dresses made me dream of seeing these trends walk down the aisle at some incredible weddings in Nashville, TN. Without further ado, let's take a look at what the designers are showing this season!

1) Simple + Sleek

Making a statement with your wedding gown does not have to mean adding beads + embellishments. Keeping the silhouette simple + sleek can create a striking and modern look (head to toe!). I'm loving how fashion forward Karlie Kloss' one-sleeve cape dress looks on the carpet along with Naomi Harris' modern cutout dress with a train (one of my absolute favorites on the red carpet this season!)

2) Beautiful Beading

If there was one detail we saw a LOT of this award season, it was beading! There were so many intricate patterns gracing the stars' dresses. Drew Barrymore even mixed a boho look with classy beading - one of the most unique looks on the Golden Globes carpet. While Giuliana Rancic's SAG Awards dress stunned with beading a la 1920s gatsby with a modern silhouette.

3) Sheer Sophistication

Goodness we are seeing a lot of sheer on the red carpet! From sheer laser cut dresses to sheer lace numbers, so many stars donned this sheer trend at award shows this season. (Which means stylists were hard at work strategizing their undergarments!) Julie Bowen's SAG Awards dress definitely caught my eye while Kristin Wiig's all over lace number was perfectly paired with her pixie cut!

4) More White Moments

There were so many more white moments on the red carpet - from Darby Stanchfield's geometric chiffon to Sienna Miller's simplistic cutouts, white is where it's at this season!

5) Bonus: Gorgeous Golds + Neutrals

Even though these dresses aren't necessarily the traditional white, I'm all about a pale-colored wedding dress! Emma Stone + Tracee Ellis Ross were breathtaking in these elegant gowns!

What wedding dress trends are you drawn to this year?

So much fun was had and I hope it brought joy to everyone who attended. Nashville Bride Guide would not be here without the love and support of each and every one of you reading this!
