Indoor Garden Wedding Inspiration at The Clark House by RSVP Events

Wednesday, September 20, 2017

To me, blush and gold never gets old! It gives off such a soft and romantic feel to a wedding day unlike any other. And Raela of RSVP Events went for it in this beautiful styled shoot! I cannot get enough of how elegant and spot on the styling is in the shoot and I am so happy to feature it today! Even the bride's dress is blush! From each detail like the hand lettered wedding invitations to the custom bubbly bar, the scene is set for one stunning day. With The Clark House as the backdrop for the intimate day, they even created an indoor garden against the beautiful mantle inside the historic home. Keep scrolling below to see all the gorgeousness!

From the designer + planner, Raela of RSVP Events: Our concept for this wedding inspiration was an ethereal, romantic indoor garden. Cascading blush tulle and lush bunches of ranunculus and anemones set the ultra-romantic vibe.  The bridal gown's blush train trailing the staircase surrounded by glass elements and flickering candles creates an intimate yet elegant entrance. The high detail of the gown's bodice is continued in a custom invitation suite-- a custom wax seal, blush silk ribbon, and cotton paper with hand-torn edges are the perfect first impression. The garden continues to the reception with a heavenly ranunculus and hydrangea garland, champagne chilling among frozen alstroemerias, and blossoms winding around the cake. Candles dot the table among flutes of gold-rimmed champagne flutes and cupcakes for a sweet closing to the evening.

Thank you so much for sharing this incredibly romantic and gorgeous shoot with us, Raela! You can check out more of her work here on RSVP Events' website and also here on Instagram!

Wedding Floral Trends for Fall from Rachael Ann’s Event Design

Thursday, August 31, 2017

Can you believe Labor Day weekend is here already? I mean, fall is upon us! So it's time to start thinking of crisp fall air, pumpkin spice everything, sweaters, and deeper wedding color tones... which is why I've invited Rachael Vacek of Rachael Ann's Event Design here to show is what fall florals are trending this year. From cascades to floral backdrops to pageant bouquets, Rachael broke it all down for us! Keep reading to see which trends you'll be pinning this fall!

Above 2 Photos by Sarah Sidwell

What are some floral color schemes you're seeing for fall?

Rachael: Definitely greenery! I don't believe that if you get married in the fall that you have to stick with the fall colors (red, orange, yellow). I love neutrals such as champagnes, ivory, blush, black white, and tan. You can also add one pop of color to add another dimension to it. I also love to use variations of the fall colors. For example, instead of doing red to do a merlot color and instead of orange to do peach.

What types of flowers are in season in fall?

Rachael: Greenery is always in season but also roses, hydrangea, peonies, dahlias, sunflowers, queen ants lace, magnolia, and cala lilys.

Are you seeing anything in particular with bouquet trends?

Rachael: I am seeing that more traditional bouquets are coming back such as the cascading bouquets are a huge trend now and so fun to create along with the pageant style bouquet. I always still love to do the wild and bohemian style of bouquet and think those will continue to be in style for years to come.

What are some other ways fall couples can decorate their wedding with florals?

Rachael: I am really into accents of flowers in different places around the reception such as on the gift table, in the entry way, on place settings, chair ties, and as a backdrop. Also, if you (the bride) doesn't want to wear a flower crown but still want that look have your bridesmaids or flower girl wear one to tie in the bohemian and wild flower feel.

What are your favorite fall trends?

Rachael: Be creative. It can still be anything that you want. I always love when a bride comes up with her own ideas to play off of that.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Rachael: Think outside the box for fall. It doesn't have to be this traditional fall wedding where it is outside with a bunch of fall leaves but can be still what you always want it to be.

Nashville Bride Guide Features Geny’s Wedding Dresses on Today in Nashville

Tuesday, August 8, 2017

I'm going to start this post off by saying - it takes a TEAM! And a few weeks back during my segment on Today in Nashville, I had so many wedding professionals and models willing and able to step up to the plate and help a sister out! During this particular segment, I showcased 4 gorgeous wedding dresses from Geny's Bridal. Now, if you've never been to Geny's, you are missing out! Shop manager Kim and seamstress extraordinaire Faye helped me with model fittings and briefed me on their newest and most trending dresses in the shop! They were gracious enough to spend time and energy making these models look fantastic for the camera - and boy did they ever! Plus, makeup artist Katie-Laine Thornton brought her team of beauty professionals to the WSMV studios to make the models look top notch! After much coordination (and even a bit of a hiccup day of!), everyone worked together to make this segement one of the best yet! Even Amy of And How! Imaging was able to capture the moments behind the scenes and even on air documenting the entire process. Take a look at all of her stunning photos and hear all about the latest fall dress trends from Geny's (plus, see the full segment below)!

So what's new as far as fall wedding dress trends go? We had Victoria wearing a beautiful Pronovias gown with an illusion back detailing with the lace appliques peeking through! Illusion backs are all the rage and bringing more interest to the back of the dress this season is key! We're also seeing beautiful buttons cascading down the backs of these dresses as well. And another element that is cool about Victoria's fit and flare dress is that the lining is champagne and the lace overlay is ivory - so that means the dress really has some dimension and pops! We are not seeing any true white dresses this season - in fact, they are really hard to come by! So color is key - we're even noticing hues of light pinks and blues walking down the aisle.

Another really cool trend (that I love!) for fall is a wedding jumpsuit! Not every bride needs to feel confined to wearing a dress - jumpsuits and pant suits are all the rage. I had Olivia Shea Styles wearing a beautiful sweetheart jumpsuit from Pronovias with a V-back and long sleeve beaded detailing. It's something unique that brides may also want to slip into during their rehearsal dinner, shower, or even during their reception. Kim at Geny's recommends that you can even bring it on your honeymoon and wear it out again to a dressy dinner! Who knew you could wear your wedding dress (er, jumpsuit!) again!

Next, La-Tanya wore an absolutely stunning Pronovias gown with a cathedral train! Cascading trains are making a huge statement this fall and combining it with long sleeves, buttons and illusion back detailing is a complete win to be on trend! The front of this dress also has the illusion detail and makes the plunging sweetheart neckline just a bit more modest with the illusion fabric. You can even buy an insert to go with the dress if the plunge is still a bit low for you, so the versatility works wonders for many different types of brides!

And finally, Victoria did a super quick change into another dress while we were live (I mean, MAJOR props to the Geny's team and Victoria for doing this!). This dress is an Ellis dress (did you know Geny's is the only shop in Tennessee that carries Ellis gowns?), and gives way to sleek and classic style! The off the shoulder trend is huge in fashion right now, so why not wear this style on your wedding day? This satin dress gives a nod to the days of old with simplistic style and meaninful design details! Plus - POCKETS! I mean, what girl doesn't love dress pockets? Perfect for carrying those tissues in case you shed a happy tear on your wedding day! (This dress can be seen in the video clip below - check it out!)

Traditional Meets Modern Indian Bridal Session in Nashville by And How! Imaging

Wednesday, August 2, 2017

Bright, bold and colorful Indian weddings are so beautiful! I love learning about the culture and traditions behind these weddings and I'm so happy some of my vendor friends brought light to it in this styled shoot at Drakewood Farms! Photographer Amy of And How! Imaging along with makeup artist Katie-Laine Thornton created a cultural celebratory scene in the backdrop of a country barn - and it totally worked! The styles meshed terrifically as the colorful vintage china place settings blended with the pops of bright blooms from A Village of Flowers. Katie-Laine's talent stretches beyond traditional makeup - she also created the intricate mehndi designs on model Kaitlyn's hands! I'm so impressed with all of the thought and detail that went into this shoot - so I'll just leave you with the gorgeous photos to inspire your Wednesday!

From the photographer, Amy of And How! Imaging: We teamed up with several amazing wedding vendors to create this bridal inspiration shoot. We wanted to work together to create some images outside of the typical "southern/rustic" style demographic, and felt like Indian weddings and brides have been under represented here. We decided to include both modern and traditional elements, all while still being at one of Nashville's favorite outdoor wedding venues.

Thank you so much for sharing this styled bridal shoot with us, Amy + Katie-Laine! I love it when these two pair up - they make wedding magic! You can check out more of And How! Imaging's work here on their website and also be sure to check out Makeup by Katie-Laine Thornton here!

Tell us about the shoot vision!

Mandy Liz: When Ashley and I first started planning the shoot we really wanted it to be timeless and romantic. We went in with the idea of a spring shoot, but it eventually branched out to a timeless shoot with touches of blue! Riverwood Mansion is timeless; it's a historic venue with unique painted walls, which quickly made it the perfect starting point for our shoot.

Events by Goldman and Mandy Liz Photography were the ones with the vision for the shoot, and worked together to secure all of the vendors. We had an amazing group of vendors though, and everything tied together nicely! Our gorgeous venue was a perfect backdrop for our blue theme, because Riverwood Mansion has painted walls in different shades of blue. Liberty Party Rental and The Wedding Plate helped us find the perfect pieces for our tablescape. Our dessert vendors, Sweet Darling Patisseire and Poppy Co Bake Shop, helped us pair cake and macarons effortlessly. We really had a great group of vendors on board with us!

What was the theme and what inspired it?

Mandy Liz: The inspiration for this shoot was a romantic, whimsical theme with touches of blue to incorporate "something blue" into a whole wedding day. The blue color scheme just kind of happened once we secured the venue. We started grabbing blue for decor, flowers, dessert, and more! It ended up playing out nicely!

What details were used to create the theme?

Mandy Liz: We went with a blue and gold color scheme, and incorporated those colors in our florals, desserts, tablescape, invitations, and venue! Our blue glass goblets and mismatched china from The Wedding Plate and the blue linens from Liberty Party Rental are what stood out the most to me at the table.

Can you share any special moments or highlights of the day?

Mandy Liz: We decided to incorporate boxed gifts from Thoughtful Boxes, and I think that would be a very special moment on a wedding day. It allows your couples to take 10 minutes to themselves to exchange gifts (gifts that they will even keep a lifetime and will always be reminded of that special day).

Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful shoot with us, Mandy! Check out more of Mandy Liz Photography's work here on her website and also here on Instagram!
