Join Dream Events & Catering’s Summer of 25 Dreams - A Community Outreach

Dream Events & Catering is turning 25 this summer! There's so much to celebrate with this Nashville staple in the wedding catering business. Owner Becki Annastas and her team have launched the Summer of 25 Dreams to celebrate in a different way - by giving back to the community. She and her team will be "committing acts of dreaminess" all across Middle Tennessee - from feeding, empowering and supporting those around us. Keep reading to find out more about how Becki + her team at Dream Events & Catering is impacting our community this summer...

How did this idea begin? The kick off was during Nashville's Big Payback in early May and the 25 Dreams will continue through Labor Day. Organizations that Dream will be supporting are Next Door, Nashville Diaper Connection, Safe Room, Little Lady Big Cause, and Compost Nashville. Dream has already donated more than 2000 items for a donation drive and clocked nearly 100 hours of community service. This is so inspiring! 

The cool part about this campaign is that you have a chance to be involved! You can donate to their Dream Donation Drive and also spread the word through social media using the hashtag #Summerof25Dreams.

Come to TWESA’s Open House Party at Geny’s Flowers & Bridal: Tuesday, July 11th

Whether you are a bride or a wedding professional, there's a really fun event coming up next week - the TWESA Open House Party at Geny's Flowers & Bridal! You'll get to enjoy food, drinks and games at the carnival themed event! The best part is, all proceeds from the event will be donated to The American Cancer Society

Now normally TWESA, the Tennessee Wedding and Events Specialists Association, is a networking group open to only wedding professionals. However, on Tuesday, July 11th, TWESA is opening their doors to the public - and it's all for a good cause! From 7pm-9pm, you'll get to enjoy meeting wedding professionals and others from the community all while enjoying food, drinks and games with a $10 admission fee. Game tickets will be available for an additional dollar each which will go directly to The American Cancer Society

A Recap of The Bloguettes Workshop in Nashville, TN

Back in May, I had the privilege of attending The Bloguettes Workshop! What is Bloguettes exactly? It's an online resource for bloggers to unite and learn how to succeed in their blogging business. But it's actually not just for bloggers, all of the tips and tricks that they teach regarding SEO, branding, social media, photo editing and more can apply to any business! Sakura + Lorena - co-owners of Bloguettes have found success with their own blogs and have now teamed together to teach others how to do it. 

But the COOL part about The Bloguettes Workshop is that so many wedding professionals stepped up to help sponsor the event!  The workshop took place for 3 days at Nashville's White Avenue Studio - one of my new favorite modern venues - and featured a scene that seemed like it was straight out of a Pinterest board! From the decor, to the food, to the swag bags, each and every details was so well thought out! Here's a look at the amazing vendors who put this on!

My friend and fellow blogger Courtney of My Tapestry Heart attended together and learned some hands-on tips and tricks to help catapult our blogs to the next level. Want to know some of my takeaways from the event? Keep reading below!

1) New tools! I'm all about finding the next new app or system to help me streamline my blogging process and The Bloguettes were not short on giving us their full list of what they use in their business. I've been a huge fan of Planoly to help me organize my Instagram grid for a while now, but since we learned all about the ins and outs of the app at the workshop, I opted to upgrade to the paid version. And let me tell you - it's so worth it! I don't feel limited in what I do anymore and I can play around with my image grid as much as I want to. The list went on from the Google suite of tools, to Facebook ads manager, to affiliate links - my mind was blown!

2) Branding Basics - what's my number one takeaway from the branding portion of the workshop? Branding is more than your logo. It's the way you talk/write, the imaging you share, your fonts, your colors - and keeping it consistent is key! It's something I already knew, but hearing it again in this capacity really hit home with me as to how important this is. And catering to everyone is not the best for your brand. The more you can niche down, the more you can succeed!

3) Proper Editing - Ok, so I am no Photoshop wiz - I'll leave that to all of you amazing wedding photographers + invitation designers! But learning some of the basics on how to edit photos and what each fuction will actually do to your photo was super helfpul! Bloguettes suggested using the Vsco and Lightroom apps for editing. My final takeaway on this - cohesive coloring is key!

So what's a wedding blogger to do after an information-packed workshop such as this? Start from scratch? Heck no! Build upon what's already there. For a while now I've been making a list of functions I'd love to have on my site to make navigation easier, to keep my brand more consistent and to create an overall beautiful experience for brides and vendors visiting my site. 

And this is where the exciting news comes in... drumroll please... Nashville Bride Guide will be getting yet another website makeover. I can't share all the details with you yet, but let me tell you, it is going to look SO pretty! Stay tuned for more updates coming this fall!

Entertain! TN Launch Party at East Ivy Mansion in Nashville

This past April, Nashville area wedding professionals and friends welcomed Brandon Rolland (aka, DJ B-Roll) and the debut of his new business Entertain! at East Ivy Mansion. Brandon and his team of Entertain! professionals did just that throughout the night - entertained the southern crowd and showed them a bit of what they can offer. And for this particular event, it was a Miami poolside soireé! From the lights to the music to the upscale design and setup, the Entertain! crew did not disappoint! With Brandon's well-connected circle of wedding professionals, the team of 20 created a night that was unforgettable. Photographer Abigail Volkmann captured the night and a mini styled shoot at the mansion prior to the festivities (you'll see the bonus photos at the end of this post!). Tell us more about Entertain! TN!

Brandon: I founded Entertain! with this vision: To create the ultimate party experience, with the highest level of professionalism and customer service. We provide DJ services, state-of-the-art photo booths, event lighting, musicians, and much more! We take the time to get to know you, learn your taste in music, and understand the importance of every little detail that goes into an event. We meet with all of our clients, and correspond quickly to questions. You don't have to wait hours or days for a response with us. Our staff is friendly, personable, and they truly care about making your event exceptional. Entertain! has provided thousands of events throughout Middle Tennessee. Not only do we provide entertainment for Nashville, Franklin, and surrounding cities, we can also travel to you.

What was the purpose behind the launch party?

Brandon: The purpose of the Launch Party was to celebrate new beginnings; as well as, to entertain hundreds of event professionals before wedding season was in full swing. I wanted our guests to let loose and have a really good time, while also networking with one another. I also wanted to showcase other sponsoring vendors to highlight some of the best vendors in Middle Tennessee.

How did you come up with the design? What was the feel you were going for at the party?

Brandon: I was fortunate to partner with Laurie Hardman of Laurie D'Anne Events who did a spectacular job designing the party. We came up with a Miami poolside themed Spring Soiree to help tie in the many wonderful features East Ivy Mansion offers. As guests arrived they were greeted by Entertain! musicians playing string instruments and handed champagne. As they made their way through the garden to the pool area we had furniture by So Cool Events that really captivated the Miami feel. We partnered with Red, Spirits & Wine that made delicious cocktails that matched the theme, and it was deliciously paired with food by Dream Events and Catering and Homestead Manor. To really bring it all together we supplied tons of lighting to help set the mood and make the venue "glow". We then featured sets from each of our DJs to get the Miami music vibes, and showcase how talented our DJs are. It was such an incredible experience.

Did you run into potential road blocks along the way? (weather, planning, etc.?) If so, how did you overcome them?

Brandon: Weather in Tennessee is so unpredictable. Two days prior it forecasted scattered thunderstorms; however, I made the call to continue the party as plan. Risk taker here! It only rained for about 20 minutes from 4-4:20 and fortunately all of the vendors were prepared for it. Once the rain past, we finished setting up and had the party rocking right on time for our guests at 5pm.

What was the ultimate feedback about the party after the fact?

Brandon: Everyone LOVED it. I received tons of compliments and people raving about how it was the best party they had ever been to. Most of the guests were used to networking events with boring music, with the sole purpose of passing business cards back and forth. They were blown away by the experience Entertain! and all the sponsoring vendors provided. We had around 300 guests show up who were all event professionals, it was unbelievable. We are now expected to host a party every year, so now that we set the bar we can't wait to surpass it!

Brandon: I would like to thank all of the sponsors who help make it such a huge success. I couldn't of done it without them!! Much love!
