Entertain! TN Launch Party at East Ivy Mansion in Nashville

This past April, Nashville area wedding professionals and friends welcomed Brandon Rolland (aka, DJ B-Roll) and the debut of his new business Entertain! at East Ivy Mansion. Brandon and his team of Entertain! professionals did just that throughout the night - entertained the southern crowd and showed them a bit of what they can offer. And for this particular event, it was a Miami poolside soireé! From the lights to the music to the upscale design and setup, the Entertain! crew did not disappoint! With Brandon's well-connected circle of wedding professionals, the team of 20 created a night that was unforgettable. Photographer Abigail Volkmann captured the night and a mini styled shoot at the mansion prior to the festivities (you'll see the bonus photos at the end of this post!). Tell us more about Entertain! TN!

Brandon: I founded Entertain! with this vision: To create the ultimate party experience, with the highest level of professionalism and customer service. We provide DJ services, state-of-the-art photo booths, event lighting, musicians, and much more! We take the time to get to know you, learn your taste in music, and understand the importance of every little detail that goes into an event. We meet with all of our clients, and correspond quickly to questions. You don't have to wait hours or days for a response with us. Our staff is friendly, personable, and they truly care about making your event exceptional. Entertain! has provided thousands of events throughout Middle Tennessee. Not only do we provide entertainment for Nashville, Franklin, and surrounding cities, we can also travel to you.

What was the purpose behind the launch party?

Brandon: The purpose of the Launch Party was to celebrate new beginnings; as well as, to entertain hundreds of event professionals before wedding season was in full swing. I wanted our guests to let loose and have a really good time, while also networking with one another. I also wanted to showcase other sponsoring vendors to highlight some of the best vendors in Middle Tennessee.

How did you come up with the design? What was the feel you were going for at the party?

Brandon: I was fortunate to partner with Laurie Hardman of Laurie D'Anne Events who did a spectacular job designing the party. We came up with a Miami poolside themed Spring Soiree to help tie in the many wonderful features East Ivy Mansion offers. As guests arrived they were greeted by Entertain! musicians playing string instruments and handed champagne. As they made their way through the garden to the pool area we had furniture by So Cool Events that really captivated the Miami feel. We partnered with Red, Spirits & Wine that made delicious cocktails that matched the theme, and it was deliciously paired with food by Dream Events and Catering and Homestead Manor. To really bring it all together we supplied tons of lighting to help set the mood and make the venue "glow". We then featured sets from each of our DJs to get the Miami music vibes, and showcase how talented our DJs are. It was such an incredible experience.

Did you run into potential road blocks along the way? (weather, planning, etc.?) If so, how did you overcome them?

Brandon: Weather in Tennessee is so unpredictable. Two days prior it forecasted scattered thunderstorms; however, I made the call to continue the party as plan. Risk taker here! It only rained for about 20 minutes from 4-4:20 and fortunately all of the vendors were prepared for it. Once the rain past, we finished setting up and had the party rocking right on time for our guests at 5pm.

What was the ultimate feedback about the party after the fact?

Brandon: Everyone LOVED it. I received tons of compliments and people raving about how it was the best party they had ever been to. Most of the guests were used to networking events with boring music, with the sole purpose of passing business cards back and forth. They were blown away by the experience Entertain! and all the sponsoring vendors provided. We had around 300 guests show up who were all event professionals, it was unbelievable. We are now expected to host a party every year, so now that we set the bar we can't wait to surpass it!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Brandon: I would like to thank all of the sponsors who help make it such a huge success. I couldn't of done it without them!! Much love!

After coming off of a workshop weekend myself at Bloguettes, I'm so excited to share this flower crown workshop with you today from wedding planner Ashley Goldman of Events by Goldman! With fresh blooms widely available from Rosebuds East available all around the gorgeous venue The Chelsea, each attendee learned tips and tricks to create their very own flower crown. From wedding planner and workshop host, Ashley Goldman: At the beginning of this year I had a dream to host a workshop where women could come, feel empowered, be creative and meet other women. Hosting a flower crown workshop birthed from a place of wanting to bring women an outlet to be inspired and to create! The workshop was hosted by Events by Goldman and taught by Rosebuds East florist. Ashley, the founder of Events by Goldman, wanted to bring in some of her favorite wedding vendors and have each of them work in their giftings in order to execute a seamless event. Vendors who participated in the event included a photographer, calligrapher, bake shop & florist. Each girl had professional training on how to create their crowns and each left with a beautiful crown of blooms! There was wine, coffee & cookies for the guests to enjoy. People came as strangers, but left as friends.

Quote from an attendee: "I think she expected women to arrive and simply make flower crowns and eat embarrassing amounts of cookies. And while that did happen, as I looked around, I felt that what we were experiencing went so much deeper. Events by Goldman has a gift for making people feel welcome, comfortable, and at peace. This gift was passed on to each and every guest she invited to her table today. She created an atmosphere where perfect strangers were DELIGHTING in each other's beauty and creativity. What a blessing for each heart that walked in this afternoon."

A Recap of Spring Bridal Fashion Week in New York from Ninth & Everett

It happens twice a year and brides and wedding industry vets wait in anticipation to see what each wedding dress designer will send down the runway at New York Bridal Fashion Week! I know a lot of Nashville wedding professionals made their way out to New York for the big show, and we were fortunate enough to speak with wedding planners & designers Ninth & Everett about their experience at the show! Josiah + Blake experienced the Kelly Faetanini + Lela Rose runway shows firsthand! We sat down with Josiah to talk about 3 of the latest trends for the upcoming bridal season!



1) Color

According to Josiah, many of the dress designers decided to forego the traditional white and ivory for a pop of color this season! The most prominent color incorporated into gowns this year was black. And we’re not talking about adding a simple black sash or small beaded black details… Kelly Faetanini decided to incorporate an all black ostrich feather skirt into her signature full A-line feathered look. Josiah also noticed black sheath slips underneath sheer white dresses to give a moody peek of black for an all-over look. Mixing the traditional white with black was also a trend - white bodices with black skirts and the reverse. So incredibly chic and modern!


2) Mermaid No More

Out of all the silhouettes that walked the runway this year, Josiah says Mermaid dresses were few and far between. The fitted look with dramatic poofs starting at the knee were not to be found, but A-line and sheath dresses were ruling the runways last week in NYC! Instead, we’re seeing more out of the box dresses and unique silhouettes.


3) Pant Suits & Jumpsuits

Designers were escaping tradition and feeling the liberty to design outside of the box. Josiah mentioned that jumpsuits and pant suits were prominent silhouettes walking the catwalk. More and more designers are accommodating tastes for all marriages and women who may feel uncomfortable in a traditional ball gown dress. This off-beat trend is alive and well - and some designers like Lela Rose styled overcoats over the dresses and jumpsuits to freshen up this fun new trend!



All in all, Josiah says the new tradition is to be NOT traditional. We LOVE this here at NBG and are excited to see more untraditional wedding dresses incorporated into Nashville weddings!

Nashville Bride Guide + White Ink Calligraphy Workshop Recap

As you may know, White Ink Calligraphy and I co-hosted a calligraphy workshop for brides this past Saturday! The lovely ladies of Nashville Event Planning and Briar Rose Hill hosted the day in their gorgeous historical wedding venue in Bethpage, TN. The bridal suite was the perfect intimate space to fit all 14 guests and take in all of the vintage-inspired atmosphere. Each guest received a swag bag full of goodies from each vendor involved and also learned the basics of calligraphy from the pro herself, Claire! The intimate group allowed Claire to give some personalized instruction and attention to the ladies and it was so much fun hearing their stories of wedding planning and why they wanted to learn calligraphy. Throughout the morning, the lovely ladies sipped on mimosas from Bar Magnolia, ate some delicious brunch from Loveless Catering (fresh, homemade biscuits anyone!?) all while learning with their take-home calligraphy kits. Claire of White Ink Calligraphy taught the ladies about pen pressure, pen nibs and lettering angles. The one-on-one attention everyone received was definitely beneficial to learning the skill. We took a break mid-workshop to tour the grounds, barn and home at Briar Rose Hill and learn more about the other vendors involved. In the end, we all took some group photos and admired the amazing floral staircase installation by Petals & Fields. And we made some new friends!

Learning about all of your wedding days, your calligraphy experiences and businesses all added up to a day I will not soon forget!
