An Intimate, Classic, Budget Wedding: Just What They Wanted

Friday, January 21, 2011

Nature's colors provide pretty accents in today's wedding.  With the help of industry professionals and their wedding planner Sarah Goude with Regalo Design, Denise and Philly had an intimate wedding and ceremony with 65 of their closest friends, family and children.  Simplicity is such an understated way to achieve sophistication. By using classic colors of green and white, their wedding turned out to be exactly what the bride and groom wanted.

Bride ~ Denise
Groom ~ Philly

Wedding Date & Time ~ April 10, 2010 at 2:00pm

Ceremony ~ Owens Chapel Church of Chris
Reception ~ Boxwood Bistro
Guests ~ 65

Wedding Style:

What was your wedding style? Classic

What were your colors? Why did you chose them? Moss green and white for Spring

What did you use for inspiration? Websites and Magazines

Wedding Scoop:

What was your budget? $5,000

What was your wedding WOW factor? The personal vows between me and my husband and our children's parts.

How did you personalize your wedding? We had personal vows to each other.

What did you give your bridesmaids and groomsmen? We gave our Matron of Honor a ring and our Best Man a tie.

What was your most special moment of the day? Having the people that meant the most to us share in it with us.

Did you have kids at your wedding? What did you do for them? We had our kids in it. We bought each of them a special new outfit that matched our colors.

Did you Do It Yourself? Or, did you leave it to the professionals? Left most of it to professionals.

If you did DIY, what was your favorite project? Why? My favorite personal project was picking out the church- I knew exactly where I wanted it.

Wedding Vendors:

~ Planner: Regalo Design
~ Cake: Dimples
~ Caterer: Boxwood Bistro
~ Photographer: Amelia Moore Photography
~ Videographer: Andy Morris Videography
~ Stationery: Gartner Studios
~ Rings: Had them Made
~ Music: Praise and Worship by Damon Goude and Tina Keil
~ Decorations/Detail: Regalo Design
~ Bridal Gown: Hand made

Who were your favorites? Every vendor I used was hand chosen because of their quality of work and what I knew they would bring to our special day. I would choose all of them again and recommend each one.

Wedding Rewind:

What would you do differently if you could start back at the beginning? Nothing

What do you consider the biggest waste of time and/or money? I don't think there was one...

What do you consider the best value for the service and product? The Church- the rental was so minimal- but the setting was perfect

What was the neatest thing you found for your wedding? A picture that we wanted to duplicate with our family

What was your biggest {and best} splurge? Having my wedding dress redone.

Blogging is something I’ve enjoyed doing for years. My interests lie mostly in lifestyle related topics like fashion, style, design, food and weddings. When I heard Ashley was looking to bring on new members to the ABG team, I jumped at the opportunity - I can’t think of a better way to stay involved in weddings than to write about them and to stay in touch with the trends and new ideas. Lucky for me, Ashley likes my blog and trusts my experience to bring me on and so far, it’s been a blast.

did you make you own wedding dress (if it says so, I guess I missed that).
If so, is it a published pattern?
