In honor of Valentine's Week, ABG is celebrating Nashville love by showcasing real Nashville weddings all week long! 5 days - 5 real weddings so be sure to stay tuned.
Today's wedding was shared by Anna aka ABG's Belle Bride. Thanks Anna and Anthony - you hired great vendors (Focal Point, Krista Lee, Wedding Musician Company - love them!) and your wedding was amazing!
Thanks for sharing your big day with us.
Bride - Anna of Tupelo, Mississippi
Groom - Anthony of Fountain Hills, Arizona
Our wedding details:
Ceremony details - Sunday, May 25, 2008 at 6 p.m.
Ceremony and reception location - Lillie Belle's of Franklin
Guests - 150 guests
Wedding Style: My wedding style -Vintage whimsy infused with Southern charm
My colors and why I choose them - Ivory, lilac, and green to complement the beautiful garden landscape. I brought in gray as a neutral to balance the color. It was a fun alternative to black or brown.
Wedding wow factor - Guests raved that the wedding felt sentimental and genuine. They adored the indoor/outdoor venue as opposed to a traditional church wedding. We incorporated quirky surprises like a Polaroid camera guestbook, communion for all guests during the ceremony, a cocktail hour before the reception and wedding corn hole for the little kids to play.
Favors - Small jars of Tupelo Honey - a nod to my hometown
Personal touches - We featured local flavor by creating out-of-town welcome baskets for friends and family when they arrived at their hotels. We served wine from the local winery Arrington Vineyards. We handmade quite a few items like the wedding programs.
Gift for bridesmaids & groomsmen - Goody baskets filled with beauty items, earrings and picture frames, plus a manicure/pedicure at the bridal spa party; Groomsmen? Monogrammed toiletry bags from L.L. Bean.
Most special moment for me - Too many to choose! The quiet moment with my dad before he walked me down the aisle... Anthony getting emotional during his vows... Taking communion while our good friend and singer, Jessica June Rose, sang "Always Forever" by Phil Wickham.... My maid-of-honor's toast... Our first dance to Jack Johnson's "Angel"... Dancing the night away with our most beloved friends and family.
What I did for kids in my bridal party - We gave our two nephews, the ringbearer and junior groomsman, water guns which they immediately took to the hotel pool. My 5-year-old niece got jewelry and a precious shirt that read "I'm the flower girl."

Florist - Always in Bloom in Franklin Bridal Makeup - Angelisa Farmer, Bridal Artistry (615-426-9713 or email@example.com) How I found my vendors? - A little online research went a long way in finding vendors. I appreciated those who had updated, well-designed websites that included photo galleries. I went to a Nashville bridal show, and while I enjoyed the eye candy, I only found one of my vendors there (Nashville Wedding Company - great choice for ceremony music!). My favorite vendors I was blessed with incredible vendors at affordable prices. I received the most bang for my buck from the florist Always in Bloom. Margie, the owner, gave reasonable prices for gorgeous arrangements. If you'd like to to add a little drama to your venue, contact Draping Designs. They did fabulous draping with strategically-placed uplighting that looked beautiful at night. Finally, I recommend Focal Point Cinematic. Owners Jon and Kelsey were the only videographers I found in the area who shot with Super 8mm film. It gave such a vintage feel to our big day. My Wedding Rewind: What I would do differently if planning again? I would not have rushed into the planning process too quickly after the engagement. Take a few weeks to simply enjoy the newly-engaged glow. Don't rush into recruiting the bridal party, putting in vendor deposits, booking a honeymoon, etc. Biggest waste of time/money? Sending in a non-refundable deposit for a venue and deciding not to get married at that location. Also, spending too much time selecting the bridesmaids' ensemble. If I could redo, they would simply wear a black knee-length dress and shoes and accessories of their choice. Best value for the service/product Seriously, our vendors were affordable. Check with them all! Neatest find? I heart the magnolia hair pin worn during the reception. I found it while perusing etsy.com, a spunky online community of those peddling their handcrafted, artistic goods. If you do not know this site, you must visit right now! You can thank me later. :)
Advice for other Nashville brides? Best wishes to you 2009 brides. Happy planning!
